Question Reflux/ Indigestion

Hi all! Does anyone supplement with digestive enzymes or probiotics? Those who remember me know I am a long time raw feeder. I am having a particular reflux/indigestion issue with one of my Chi's. I have been adding a splash of ACV to his meals, but it is of little help--he really has a major issue most days (& always has). No one particular food is responsible. Nor is the temperature of the meat. Thanks for any imput and it's nice to be back

Have you tried famotadine (Pepcid AC)? It needs to be given 15 minutes before feeding, but it definitely helps with acid reflux.

Megan--I have not used the Pepcid AC for him (love it for myself though on occasion--lol). I am looking for a more holistic remedy at this time since it is an almost daily occurrence. Right now I just hold him after eating and pat his back like a baby till he burps!! But thanks for the great suggestion

Have you thought about pumpkin or organic Greek yogurt?

My girl, Zarita, has reflux and the vet prescribed Pepcid (1/4 tablet) a day. She does fine with it, but it is for life. Nothing I did helped before pepcid. I had Zarita tested at a 'teaching clinic' and all the tests were negative. I did not have the endoscopy of the stomach done, as the specialist was sure it was reflux.

I love pumpkin for stool issues, and my 3 other Chi's do great with a lick of Greek yogurt now and again but Alvin is bothered by yogurt (go figure )

Susan, I am trying not to have to go the conventional route until it is a huge problem. He eats 2x daily and doesn't always get it. I have extensive knowledge on human reflux, but not puppy reflux so am approaching this delicately. Could you share what you tried before turning to the Pepcid? I wonder if many Chi's have this problem...hmmm. And I forgot, are you feeding raw or other ( just curious)? THANKS!

How did you find out he has reflux? What are the symptoms? I have a chi that can't have an empty stomach or she vomits bile I've thought of trying Pepcid but right now am feeding 4 or 5 times a day to prevent (not super reliable prevention though)
Thanks for any info
