Well, Romeo's labwork came back today. He is heartworm NEGATIVE :hello1:! He tested high for Eosinophils which typically indicates some type of parasite being present; so although his fecal exam was negative as well we're going to start a deworming regimen of Drontal just to be safe. No decisions yet as to if we're keeping him; though I already have my heart set on renaming him Gatsby if we choose to. (I'm sure you all remember Eleanor's pup I almost kept that I named that; it's been that perfect name I've been holding on to for a boy for a long time, LOL.) He's not outta the woods yet; he's coming back to work with me again tomorrow to get his first set of vaccines too. Then once we get him back to a healthy weight and I'm comfortable with him going under anesthesia he'll have his neuter AKA the MIA testicle exploration. =P
Anyway to celebrate a clean bill of health, I decided to give him his first official photoshoot tonight. He was SUCH a good boy; he just sat happily for everything and made it pretty easy to get his attention.. he's so animated, I just adore him. It's just a matter now of seeing how he'll adjust to the pack once the hormones are outta the way; the poor guy is SO intense about humping, I feel bad for him. =( I wish there was like, some kind of pill he could take that was the OPPOSITE of Viagra. =P Last night he kept trying to hump Rob constantly; and I don't think it's entirely a dominance thing because we kept stopping him and he acts very submissive/timid when you correct him. Then he just sits looking pathetic and starts humping the air. =( His hormones are just raging... =/ We're just trying our best to get him run out of energy with walkies and playtime and hoping that'll make him nice and tired. Anyway without further adieu...

Aww, I am so very happy the little guy had such wonderful test results!! :hello1: Talk about a photogenic boy..lol his pics are really adorable.. You would never know that he was ever neglected by his photoshoot results.. Looks like the camera is definitely his friend!
I know you and he have to be frustrated about his raging horomones.. Poor little fella. I pray he continues to gain weight, gets a clean bill of health, and gets his neuter procedure safely out of the way.. I sure would love to see you guys be able to keep him.. Blessings, Deb

What a cutie! He really is a handsome boy. Im glad youre getting good news back on his tests so far. Id say its a miracle he isnt heartworm positive. Great pictures, the first and last one are my favorite. Im sure youll all be happier when he is able to be neutered! Poor little guy, Im sure hes frustrated!
