I've come down with YET another chest infection. This makes my third since march.
I spoke to my gp 2 months ago when I had the last bout, and he said there is nothing I can do to prevent them and getting them is just one of those things.

But I just googled herbal remedies, and there are a few things there I may try.
I'm getting a bit fed up of it though.

It always starts with a runny nose and slight sore throat, and within 4 days progresses to a chest infection.

I am thinking of trying to see a different gp tomorrow 9(havent seen one yet but know it is a chest infection, had them enough to know now lol) and seeing what he\ she says.
I feel there MUST be something I can do.

I think you should get another opinion and certainly look into things you can do to prevent these infections. Maybe you should see a doctor that specializes in herbal remedies. I wouldn't accept that they just have to keep happening and you have to accept it! No, no! There has to be something that will help. I hope you feel better very soon and can find something to prevent these infections.

Well, I went to see my practice nurse, my inhalers have been upped to stronger dose ones, I have been given steroids, and will be on antibiotics for 2-4 months ( I think it is spelt doxycyllin), also going back once over this chest infection (which was confirmed) for an asthma review to treat that more practively.
Also loked up herbal remedies, and I already take ecinacea (sp) so upping the dose from 2 to 6 a day.
Also going to try finding someone who deals with hrebal remedies who can help more.

I already take daily doses of

the one mentioned above
selenium
brewers yeast
multi vitamin and iron
cod liver oil
glucosamine
vitamin c

and then my prescribed meds.
I also rattle if you shake me :)
