everyone. I know it has been a while since I posted and pics or updates. Sorry about that , but after some recent things that happened on FACEBOOK with a few members from this forum I have been keeping my distance. What happened was not directed at me , but it was directed at my best friend and I found the things that were said to be very hurtful (especially from some of the people I called friends from here).... The worst being that some people implied that my dogs and some of their furry family members were "sub-standard". So I will say this about my dogs: They may not be the "perfect" chihuahua by the "standard", but they are mine and I love them with all my heart and I am proud to show them off. If someone here does not like them then feel free to skip my posts. Anyway, I really love this forum and I have been a member here for a long time, thus I will not let a few people ruin my enjoyment of posting, reading and browsing pics here. I also want to add that I love and enjoy so many of the wonderful members here (both old timers and new members) and I love your fur babies. With that out of the way (sorry I had to get it out) here are some recent pics of my pups and a few updates :

Jasper's epilepsy is under control and thus far with his meds, reg vet checks & tests and some extra TLC he is still symptomatic but no where near as bad off as he was:

Here is Mr. Moose now 2 yrs old with his daddy:

Little Ms. Ginger Snaps is now 6 months old...she will be spayed 12/11 which already has us a nervous reck. She is 3.7lbs..so really just a little peanut.

A few randoms:

A few more to come:

Laura...I am so sorry that happened to you...it really is so childish to be forever comparing chihuahuas...my girls are what would be considered
"substandard " in some ( maybe most ) peoples eyes...but when I look at them, I only see beauty...the faces of angels ( albeit not the behaviour of angels some times
) Like humans, we all can't look Halle Berry...and really would we want to ?? I can go out without my hair perfect and dressed in my grubs and no one cares LOL.
I'm so glad to read Jaspar is doing better on his meds....
When it comes to fur, your crew would take every award ...beautiful coats.... It's hard to believe Miss Gingersnap is old enough to get spayed...where does the time go ! Those pics are so darn cute...I think you must be going over to your friends for the spa day before the holidays...looking forward to all the bathing pics...make sure Ralph has lots of towels LOL...

hugs to your crew from my crew

I am sorry that those things happened to you but I am glad that you came back.
There are LOTS of chis on here that are sub-standard and Jaxx is included in that. I had a person telling me one time how horrible it is that Jaxx has a floppy ear. Personally I love his floppy ear and I could care less if he is not perfect breed standard because of it. I think chis should be breeded for the standard but ultimately they should be breeded to make sure all health issues that can be eliminated are eliminated. From what I have read non breed standard chis can come out of the best breeds. I know that Jaxx was the only one in his litter who's ears did not stand up.

Your chis are beautiful and you have beautiful pictures of them. I just want to cuddle Ginger!

Good luck on the spay this month!

Hiiii Laura!!! <3 I'm so sorry you had to go through any drama. I would guess that the majority of Chi's here are not perfect, according to standards. Including mine. But like you, they are part of my family and we love and adore them. Your babies are precious!!! You've always been such a neutral member here, never stepping on anyone's toes, and I've never seen you involve yourself in drama. Your family photos have always warmed my heart. You and Ralph clearly adore your furry family, and that's all that counts. This isn't a forum designated to showing only. Many of those that put down others pups here have 'sub-standard' Chi's of their own. Ignore the riff-raff. All my love! (((((Hugs))))

I love all the pics!!! Beautiful family!! Furry and non-furry!

Happy Holidays to you too! Kathleen, I wouldn't mind looking like Halle Berry! Haha. I don't think it's right for anyone to judge anyone else's dog's looks. Sorry you had to be in the middle of some drama! I was just reading about drama in another post too! Seems like I miss it all. Odie would also be considered sub-standard.

I really love the pics with your cat! Especially the one with the cat's paw sticking out of the box. So cute.

Oh, wow! Did I really get you and Nabi confused?!? Silly me, I know your name is Laura. I am commenting while studying for finals... not a good idea I guess, LOL. Sleep deprivation kicking in! I'm fixing it now.

Laura you have the most beautiful family - I cannot think of anyone who provides as much love and care to their dogs than you and Ralph do

What is substandard is the fact that some people think they have the right to hurt people all in the name of creating the "perfect" dog- shame there are not more "perfect" people in this world - people who could see that creating hurt and gossip is nothing to be proud of
Hold your head high, you have amazing and loved dogs who could ask for more

Obviously some people need to get a life and stop putting others down to make themselves feel superior!

Your dogs are gorgeous and more important than how they look is that they are loved and loving members of your family. It's not like you are breeding or showing anoy of them, they are beautiful pets who bring you joy so the finer points of their confirmation are really not an issue.

Anyway, I was glad you posted those pics since seeing pics of KC the other day made me wonder how Ginger was doing. She is growing into a lovely little lady and she obviously has her brothers and her humans doting on her 24/7.

My chi is not standard either...but what comes with that is he doesn't have as many problems. No molera, which to me is a hazard if the dog hits its head, his jaw is long enough to have decent anchoring for the teeth and he can breath well. He is close to some champions from years past I have seen but not quite.

There's nothing wrong with dogs who aren't perfectly to standard.
