1.how many chis do you own?:
- I have 6 chihuahuas
2.how many males/females and how old are they?: I have 1 male who is 10 on new years eve and 5 females, tinkerbelle is 7.5, jojo is 6,cheeky is 6, tushka is 4 and lolly is 18mths
3.whats your favourite chi colour?:- I love blue and tan the colour of my lolly

4.what chi colour do you find comes up most in your litters?: Cream

5.what was it like when you produced your first chi litter?: -
When I had my first litter some 8 years ago i was so excited I have had chinchillas for years and had a few babies from them so the small chihuahua babies were a little bigger. It was wonderful we have 3 babies and the birth went very well so did the puppies, I still see and here from the owners today.
6.can you remeber the details of the first litter, what colours/sex/number?:
We had three pups all red and white we had two boys and one Girl
7.Do you name the pups in your litters and if so do you have any speacial naming systems?: I try not to name my puppies as i get to attached to them but if they are 4weeks and unspoken for I name them as i like to talk to my pups and you need a name for that , sometimes the new owners keep the names some dont and thats ok with me too.
8.how big would you say your chi litters were on average and what was the biggest chi litter? My chi litter average 4, however i have had 7 but not all survived
9.How many of your own pups have you kept?:
I have kept 3
10.How many chi pups have you kept just because you cudnt bare to part with them?: Non I have a husband and son that keep me on the right track but its heart breaking, but you have to be tough if you want to continue.
11.what is the worst thing about breeding chis?:
The heart break when you have been handfeeding a little might for a week and it dies you feel so responsible its awful, no one can prepare you for the loss you feel its really really upsetting.
12.what is the best thing?:
Seeing happy healthy pups running around the living room haveing such a great time being naughty and totally comical I just love it!!!!!
13.have any of your dogs ever had to have a c section?:
Yes on Just average i have had 50%births natural and 50% c section
14.have you had to hand rear any puppies?:
I have hand reared on many occasions it is very tireing as you can not leave the pups or dame at all, you are up every 2hrs around the clock , I sleep with the dam for up to 14days or until the pups are old enought to start taking solids. it iis very exhausting, and emotional and exciting and heartbreaking, but if you come throught the other side then you feel so proud that if it werent for you those puppies would not be here and that is the most fantastic reward you can ask for.
15.Do you show your chis?:
Yes I do show my chi I really enjoy it now, periviously I tried showing but found the pettiness unbareable but now I go with my mom and we keep ourselves to ourselves but we have met some lovely people along the way and some who would rather be forgotten lol.
Still we enjoy it the buzz if winning is tremendously exciting.

I hope you have found this helpful

1.how many chis do you own?: 8
2.how many males/females and how old are they?: 6 females/2 males; 3 of the females are spayed: Chica is 5, Mocha is 4, Opal is 3; 3 are breeders; Stella is 3, Dora is 7 months and Kit is 9 weeks- Males, Riley is 8 months, Colby is 9 weeks.
3.whats your favorite chi colour?: I really don't have a favorite color, I used to favor the blacks but I have since changed my opinion of color and go more for personality
4.what chi colour do you find comes up most in your litters?:probably black & tan, but I have only had 2 litters and out of those 2 I had 4 black/tan, 1 black/white spotted, 2 fawn and 1 blue
5.what was it like when you produced your first chi litter?:I was ecstatic-they are sooooo cute
6.can you remember the details of the first litter, what colours/sex/number?:Yes, I had 3 females and 1 male, the females were all black/tan-short coats and the male was spotted black/white-long coat. He was stunning. Lost 1 female at 2 days.
7.Do you name the pups in your litters and if so do you have any special naming systems?: I did not name the pups in the first litter, but I have names for the pups in this second litter
8.how big would you say your chi litters were on average and what was the biggest chi litter? I have averaged 4 pups per litter
9.How many of your own pups have you kept?: 2 out of the last litter
10.How many chi pups have you kept just because you couldn't bare to part with them?: those last two mentioned
11.what is the worst thing about breeding chis?: I cannot not think of a bad thing-I love chis and chi puppies are the best-but they do take a lot of monitoring.
12.what is the best thing?: they are the cutest little things-and when they start to respond to voices-it is great. I love talking to them and having them respond
13.have any of your dogs ever had to have a c section?: No
14.have you had to hand rear any puppies?:Yes, I had to supplement the smallest female out of my first litter. But she made it and that was great. I had an older pup out of the last litter that I had to supplement quite late (8 weeks) and she did not make it.
15.Do you show your chis?: No, I have shown other dogs (corgis)I have a difficult time putting up with the pettiness that people often demonstrate during shows. It is hard to join and stay in that arena. I have found that mine are just as lovable and cute as those show chis.
Also the cost of traveling to the shows and the entry fees seem to be quite high, anymore.
I have been a 4-H leader with Dogs and that was a better show situation because it is working with kids and their dogs. Much more rewarding.
