my sister used to have acne pretty bad. She had to go to a dermatolgist. She was given acutane. Everytime she went to the derma's office she put hot steaming wash cloths on her face. Maybe you could put warm cloths on your face, it may work for you. Sorry i never had acne, just a zit every now and then

Ah, a subject dear to my heart - skincare.

Im pretty much obsessed with having nice skin.. lol. I do a lot of reading up on it, especially holistic/natural care because I hate putting a load of chemicals all over my face. (same goes for hair and body, but that's a different thread all together). I think I may one day become an aesthetician or dermatologist because I've been into skin care since i can remember..

anyways! to answer your question I would recommend a couple different brands that i LOVE and know they work from personal experience...

Dr Hauschka

Shop by skin concern (oily)

7 facts that will change your skin: (they really did.. very good info. #2 really blew me away when i first read it but it makes sense!)

also Suki is another great brand that really works wonders.

I checked the store locator and you can find it in the UK.. I don't know if youve heard of it before or not?

And I would suggest the little trial kit if you aren't able to find a store with testers.. http://sukisnaturals.com/product.php?product_id=24

Here are the products in this line for your skin type: http://sukisnaturals.com/skin_conditions.php

Hope some of this helps! I have more info for you but I'll post tomorrow because its nearly 3am and i need to go to bed! :D Good luck, and I hope you find something that works for you! Skin can be so frustrating sometimes, i know.

I've really had good luck with the over the counter Olay Total Effects line. It has a cleanser with blemish control that can be used daily or even up to 3 times daily and the Rejuvenist line has a very light moisturizer that seems to keep my skin from going crazy making oils.

Chibaby~ I wish I had some advice, but I am in the same boat. I am 27 and instead of black heads I have full blown white heads, the really nasty kind, sorry TMI. I have tried everything short of a dermatologist and that's only because I can't afford to go to one. I have always had bad acne since I was like 12. I've learned to deal, because washing with every cleanser in any store around here has never helped. Right now, I am usuing one from Biore with still no improvement. So, I'll be looking at all your suggestions too. :)

chi baby i would also like to say that if you are using any form of contraception this can break your skin out
i never ever had spots until i got an implant in my arm and every now and then i get spots but i have heard if you go to your gp they can prescribe something that will help your skin

i have acne but cos I have pcos.

I use clinique facial cleanser , toner and mattifying moisturiser daily, biactol fash wash, i drink tonnes of water, and the hot towels trick works, but even better is one of those facial suana's, about £15 in argos (also good for asthmatics and clearing coughs etc lol)

I used to have quite bad skin, but I've been using Johnson's 24 hour moisturiser on my face twice a day for the last few months, and my skin is really great now :)

chi baby, i found a great article for you to read, it's about a really inexpensive treatment for oily skin. It sounds crazy, but it's an oil-cleansing process that clears your skin up. The article is very informative, and I'm going to pick up some castor oil once im feeling better and give it a whirl!
