so i read that chis area fully grown at 18 months, but till when i have to feed puppy food?? till the 18 months or can i stop at 8 months, i ask because i have seen in labels that say to switch to adult food at 8 months.
Hmmm, I feed raw so don't know about the commercial food type. I will say that I quit the 3x day puppy feeding at about 6-7 months and went to 2x day feedings.
I fed Rico as adult dog around 7 months...I think so...he was eating very well and had grown to an adult size. If I had a tiny one or a picky eater, a pup that did not eat well--I would continue to feed as a puppy. Once Rico got an appetite--he just started loving food, I didn't worry about him eating as much. It was after he was neutered and all of that he was very healthy so I just stopped treating him as a puppy with food. How big and what age ??
Keep her on the puppy food and at 3 meals a day. She is still tiny and needs all the nutrition she can get. The difference between 5 and 7 months can be huge. I have a 4.5 month old and a 6.5 month old and the size and development difference is huge - and my younger one is supposed to be the bigger adult of the two.
Considering she is a little on the thin side and is active I would keep her on puppy food until 9 months or so.
If at 9 months she's thriving and in good shape you can keep her on it until 12 months.
thanks a lot, i asking because i want to buy an 11 pound bag of food, that will last more than 3 months, since i mix with canned i use less dry, so i dont wanna buy a expensive bag of food an then have to throw it away. now that i know i can keep her on it until a year, i can buy the bag
