The one thing I may be more thoroughly obsessed with than Chihuahuas (okay maybe not more...let's say tied for first!) are my fish. I have been obsessively keeping fish for 23 years, with no end in sight. Right now I have 6 fish tanks up and running (I've been known to have as many as 24 going at one time in the past). 4 of those are large - 5 or 6 feet long depending on the tank, and 125 gallons each. I keep cichlids, a very large group of fish consisting of thousands of species from all parts of the world. My favourites are my "monsters" which are very large and aggressive, but I also have one community tank which houses African cichlids that are native to Lake Malawi (these are all tank bred however). They're an absolutely stunning fish, just about the only thing out there that compare to the beautiful colours of salt water reef fish - but these are purely freshwater. These are some of them :)

Many years ago I had tanks full of chiclids plus a few other interesting fish. There was an elderly man who lived near me who was considered one of the leading experts of chiclids. He told me that adding a small amount of salt to the water brings out the colors and encourages breeding. I added about a cup of salt to a 125 gallon tank and found out how right he was. Your fish are lovely.
