Many folks have heard about the tragedy of Jag. Although Jag will never
be home with his loving family, we can try and do something that will
prevent this type of accident from happening again.

you people would be shocked and horrified by the stories my boss can tell as to what goes on in dog shows and grooming shops.

As an individual doing the show thing I am horrified at what I hear. I am new to it and to be honest I doubt very much if anyone will ever handle my showbabies. Beleive it or not it is so frightning to me I often ask myself do I really want to continue doing this

never never ever leave the water and food bowl in their cages with them thats for sure. some of those people are so cuthroat! at one show 20 dogs dropped dead because of poison in their water. even if you are going to be there with them at all times water them then take it right out when they are done drinking. my boss bred and showed chow chows for a long time and she seen some stuff boy.

theres a "technique" that some groomers use to "teach" a fiesty dog to stay on their table. let me say this first before i tell it to ya's. my boss DOES NOT use this so called technique and she tells all new hires if they ever used it to leave her shop right there and then.

if the dog is biting or won't stay still the groomer tightens the noose and pushes them off the table so they are hanging there. the dog freaks out then stops moving, then pees and poops itself then the groomer lets it up on the table and the dog don't move again after that cause it's frightenend and in shock. some groomers also use duct tape to hole the mouth shut on a biting dog.

we have muzzles at the shop i work in. if we have a biting dog, we muzzle it (well not my boss, that is her last resort lol she'll take nips to the hand and arm then when blood is drawn she gets her muzzle, she's a tough cookie and hates restraint ) we also use e-collars so the dog isn't muzzled but can't bite cause of the collar lol. (my one dog had to have the e-collar and a muzzle ha! and he still bit us all!) and in 90 precent of the cases we are laughing when it happens. my boss says that if you are a yeller or mean to the animals it's time you get out.

no the handler left the dog on grooming table the dog hung itslef falling off thenthey tried to hide the fact no one has ever seen it since it was hanging from the noose

What a beautiful dog. I cannot imagine the grief Jag's owners are going through.

I have always been a fan of dog shows - only because I like seeing all the dogs and the more interesting breeds. I'm a fan of the Puli!

It's instances like that one that make me wish they'd just do away with the whole thing though. To most, their animals are not only their show dogs but they're beloved family members. To a few, the animals aren't important and it's only the fame that matters. If it's going to get to the point where one person has to poison your family pet just so they can win a ribbon purchased at the dollar store, it's not worth the risk in my opinion. The whole thing sickens me.

omg. poor jag. it's sick that these things happen behind the scenes. I know how his parents feel. When I was on vacation two years ago I boarded my greyhound at a vets office. It wasn't my normal vet bc they were booked but a friend of mine used to bring her cats there so I thought they'd be the next best alternative. Well, 3 days into my vacation they called my cell and told me my dog hurt his foot somehow and they were giving him antibiotics. they sounded really weird so I called my mom and asked her to go in there and check on him to make sure he was ok since she lived close. well a half hour later she called me screaming(and my mom never screams). she said she went in and had to wait a while before they would bring her back and when they finally did she saw him...laying on the floor with an iv bleeding and bruised from his legs and stomach. she got him out of there and brought him to my regular vet but he died that night. My vet did an autopsy and found nothing that could kill him other than blunt trauma to his body. My vet said he looked like he got hit by a car. it was horrible. i know how they feel. I felt so guilty for leaving him there..like i abondoned him and left him with these creeps who tried to hide what happened to him. ugh this makes me sick. :evil:

Oh my goodness what a heartbreaking story.I cant imagine the pain and sorrow of losing a dog while you are away.I am so relieved I left Poppy with our housekeeper now and that I read this post after I got back :shock:

that is horrible.. my prayers are with jag and his family, i wish you the best through your time of sorry, those people should get the worst possible punishment they can, what complete idiots.. ugh that frustrates me soo much i hate to see anumals hurt for stupid reasons...
