Ive noticed most of the light coloured Chi`s have dark circles under there eyes. Including my pups mum so it must be normal. Dunno why it happens etc tho.
I noticed the same symptoms with Princess. When I took her to the vet they said she had scratched the surface of her eye and gave me some drops to put in them. Her symptoms went away after a couple of weeks. But my friends chi always has tear spots under his eyes. The only reason I knew something was going on with P was because she had never had a tear issue before. Good Luck

p.s i looked at Guiness's dogster page he is super cute!
there is this really great tear stain remover called eye envy. that may take care f the staining. as for them being extra watery, is it allergy season by you? it is here and chiw's eyes have been a little more watery as well. i am always taking a cotton ball (damp with warm water) to her eye to try to remove the "hardness" that happens with the fur from them being watery. and in between i use a dry cotton ball to touch up. so far it's been workin well.... (chiwi wants to know when more pics are going to be posted...)
It could be allergies too, we have one horse that does this every spring unless we give him antihistamine shots.
Mario's eyes have been a bit watery too also he has been sneezing which the vet said was probably allergies.
Yep, it is allergy season here too. Jasmine's eyes have been more watery lately also. I just keep them wiped as much as possible. Fortunately, with her sable coloring, the stains under the eye are not so noticeable.

Chihuahua's eyes do tend to water more than some other breeds I think. It is probably nothing to be concerned about. Just keep them cleaned, and if you are concerned about the tear stains, there is a product out that is supposed to help with that.
