After thinking about it for a week or se we finally decided to go ahead with getting Axel a companion. He loves other dogs so much (he wore out my mum's jack russel on the weekend) and he's home alone a bit so we though it was only right to get him a little friend. This little lady is froom Axle's breeder but is not related to him. She's 6 weeks old and weighs in at a hefty 675 grams - she's the biggest of her litter of 6 by over 100g. She will be able to come home with us at 8 weeks coz she's so sturdy. She was really good with the older pup they had, she got knocked over and stood on and she picked herself up and continued to play so we are confident she will be a good fit for Axel. Contenders for names thus far are Chloe, Reese and Rose (as in Axel Rose) but any suggestions would be most appreciated. Can't believe we're going from no dogs to 2 within 2 months but i'm sure they will become a happy little pack!

Hershey - I was definitely inspired to think of a chocolate name and I love peanut butter cups so Reese is definitely a front runner for the name, my husband like Chloe though so there may have to be some negotiations.

Jerry's Mom - I did ask again after she told me when I could pick her up as I didn't get Axle until he was almost 10 weeks old but she said she thinks she will be fine by then and if not she will keep her another week (as she did with Axle). She is the biggest of the litter, weaned this week, has no molera and is quite well socialised as the breeder has 3 pet dogs (a Chi, a mini poodle and a rottweiler) as well as her breeding stock that the pup has been playing with. The smallest pups in the litter will be staying until 10-12 weeks (they are only 450g).

I was just going to say she looked like Hershey! Congrats-she is a doll. If my conversion is correct, your baby just weighs about 1.5 lbs.

Hope was the same as Axel. One of our friends said, "So your dog is wild and crazy so you are getting her a puppy?". After a long pause I answered, "Yes".

We did the same as you. Our first last November and the second 2 months later in January. NEVER regretted it a second!

Dragonfly - The Jack Russel is a spritely 5 y.o herself so I was surprised, but by about 4 hours into our visit she was retreating to the headrest of the sofa for a nap. Axel then decided he would turn his attentions to the one eyed 18 y.o cat - he quickly learnt that cat's don't really appreciate his style of play :)

Your new baby is so cute.Just wanted to kiss that little nose. Also has eyes with so much expression.. I can come home from work after a bad day and when my little Gandalf (the rotton, for any of the Lord of the Rings fan) and Tinkerbelle meet me at the door, all the bad things go away. When I sit in my recliner with the two puppy piling next to me, I forget my bad day. I believe in Chi Therapy, better than a bottle of Valum. LOL Congraduations.

Congrats! What a cute little puppy. I love Rose as in Axl Rose. I think that's cute. I had a dachshund name Axl that passed away a few months ago since I love Guns n Roses and of course Axl Rose.

OMG! I could eat her with a spoon. She is as pretty as a peach. If she was mine I would name her Reecie Peace. Just my humble opinion.
