LOL today has been a nightmare keeping Oakley from her incision site. Her leg was wrapped very well this morning. We put her in her crate per doctor's orders for crate rest.

Then, this afternoon when we came home from lunch, she'd pulled the bandaging off and had quite a go at her stitches.

So we put her cone on her. She was not happy.

Tonight, when we came home from work...

This dog is gonna be the end of me, LOL.

FORTUNATELY she hasn't been able to do any real damage, but she's coming to the office with me tomorrow so I can watch her naughty little butt.

Sorry for the crap pictures...cell phone :( We re-bandaged and soaked it with bitter apple, so she's sulking now.

OMG what a pill she is. Hopefully she will mellow out, but from the sounds of it, doubtful. Sorry she's being such a handful about her incison.

OMG, I'm laughing so hard. I'm so sorry. I had a cat that had to have this on for two weeks and it about killed us both. It was just god awful. My husband and I called it "the hat" and if we even said it, the cat would run for its life. God bless you and good luck.

Oh goodness! How did she get that off from her neck? She would have really had to been fighting that thing to get it off like that. She is fed up, and wants you guys to know it! Sorry she's being such a Pistol. I bet you and her both will be glad when this is all over with. Maybe it's really starting to itch and she is licking at it hoping to scratch it?

She's really being a pill, for sure, lol. It would be hilarious except for I'm terrified she's going to get the stitches out!

I don't blame you for laughing, they can be such brats about these things. "THE HAT". We just call it...the cone of shame.

I think it MUSt be starting to itch, because until today she really didn't show any interest! Now she is just being as difficult as she can. That's the smallest sized cone any of the vets here had, we had one that was slightly bigger that I had modified w/ duct tape to try to keep it on, and that didn't work either. So she's just gonna hafta come to work with me so I can keep an eye on her naughty highness. Its about to make me scream.

OH and we've had to start tying her crate shut, as yesterday evening when we got home, Bryco had opened the door and was sitting in there with her. Its ridiculous at our house right now.

Oh my goodness. I laughed when I saw the cone hanging around her neck. I think going to work with you will work best. Then you can distract her if she starts biting the bandage.

Ha what a brat! Lucky you are able to bring her into work with you, otherwise I dont know what youd do about it. It really must be starting to heal up and get itchy if she is working that hard!

I think any healing that had happened she reversed as its red and there's small bits of blood. I am so over this. I'm about to put her in a bag with her head sticking out until this BS is over with :-/

That really sucks. I know how frustrated you are. Miley had surgery about 6 weeks ago and had stitches all over her tummy after getting a spay and emergency hernia repair. We were instructed to keep her "quiet" aka caged, for 10 days and it was awful. I would start feeling sorry for her and let her out for a little break, and then she would tear around and try to jump up on the furniture, and our lab was always happy to lick the stitches for her, so it ended in me regretting it every time. It is basically impossible to get through it without them doing everything they can to mess it up! You just have to get through it and deal with the constant anxiety that any minute theyll undo all the vet's work and you will have to take them in, again :(
Hang in there, she will be all healed up soon enough, despite her efforts :)
