It has been a rough week but I need to share a story that has happened. I am still trying to put my heart back together and stay strong for me crew but at the same time this hurts and is heartwarming.

On Tuesday, I was home sick and we received 4 inches of snow. It was sad as Sadie was my Snow Angel. She loved the snow and would play as long as her cold feet and cold belly would allow her. Gibbs on the other hand hated the snow and hates a cold belly. Sadie would bark and bark and bark until he came out of the dog house to play with her. She would drive him bonkers until he gave in. Well on Tuesday I heard a commotion in my yard, I looked out and Gibbs was running around the snow, almost like he was laughing and smiling. Going crazy romping around, zoomies, almost like he was chasing someone. Paths were made and no undisturbed snow was left in my yard.

I just sat there watching him and crying at the same time. My heart was breaking for him as that is what he use to do with Sadie. I went by to see Kim on Wednesday as I needed Huly food and I told her about it. She said "Christie Gibbs guardian angel is now Sadie and she came to visit and make Gibbs play in the snow." "She hasn't left your side"

I never thought about that but it makes sense as it reminded me of the two knuckleheads romping around free as can be enjoying every moment until Gibbs belly got cold and he would run inside. Sadie would go back to barking and annoying him and they would do it all again.

Then yesterday my cousin sent me this:

I Stood By Your Bed ~

Author Unknown

I stood by your bed last night, I came to have a peep.
I could see that you were crying, You found it hard to sleep.

I whined to you softly as you brushed away a tear,
"It's me, I haven't left you, I'm well, I'm fine, I'm here."

I was close to you at breakfast, I watched you pour the tea,
You were thinking of the many times, your hands reached down to me.

I was with you at the shops today, Your arms were getting sore.
I longed to take your parcels, I wish I could do more.

I was with you at my grave today, You tend it with such care.
I want to reassure you, that I'm not lying there.

I walked with you towards the house, as you fumbled for your key.
I gently put my paw on you, I smiled and said "It's me."

You looked so very tired, and sank into a chair.
I tried so hard to let you know, that I was standing there.

It's possible for me to be so near you everyday.
To say to you with certainty, "I never went away."

You sat there very quietly, then smiled, I think you knew ...
In the stillness of that evening, I was very close to you.

The day is over... I smile and watch you yawning and say
"Goodnight, God bless, I'll see you in the morning."

And when the time is right for you to cross the brief divide,
I'll rush across to greet you and we'll stand, side by side.

I have so many things to show you, there is so much for you to see.
Be patient, live your journey out ... then come home to be with me.

When you told me this story the other day, it gave me the chills and filled my eyes with tears! And then I read it today and the same thing! Sadie wants Gibbs to know she loves him and everything will be ok!

This made me cry too. Sadie will always be with you, you can't get rid of her that easily lol. She is the unstoppable Sadie :)
It is funny you say that as my friend RheeAnna drove down last Friday to see her and help us make the call. RheeAnna said "Dang Sadie, you wouldn't make this easy on us would you" "You have never been easy on us"

I had a Yorkie that died at 14. A few weeks after she died we were sitting on the couch and I could swear we heard her collar / vaccination charm sounding like it was coming down the stairs. A few seconds later I felt something and looked at my leg and there were scratch marks. I swear it was my Glory. Never happened again but I know it was her. I believe they are still with us.
