Cooper has a slicker brush similar to this one. The little metal prongs are curved though and they're made out of a "soft" metal so they don't hurt him... but he's a short hair, so that's better for him.

I also have a regular children's hair brush I bought at the grocery store with soft bristles that we use after the slicker.

This isn't Chico's brush, but it's the same kind I use on him. He LOVES being brushed :)
thanks i have both of those woohoo :D
I have a 2 sided brush - 1 side has the metal teeth like cooper's mom has. The other side is a regular brush like Chico's mom uses. I use the metal teeth side first and finish off with the regular brush.
I do the same as chimom... the soft metal brush like Cooper's mom showed followed by the brush Chico's mom showed. One of them is a cat brush but I can't remember which.
I use the slicker brusher for longhaired chi.And the Zoom Groom brush for both chis especially for shampooing.
I've been using this boar hair brush - I think I found it at PetCo. As you can see, it also has been used as a chew toy while Tico gets his nails trimmed.
We use a cat sized shedding blade on the boys then followup with the slicker brush. By far, the shedding blade helps to eliminate the most loose hair.

Here's what it looks like:

OmaKitty has one of those. I have to hold it on the ground where she can brush her face while I use a slicker brush on the rest of her. If I had four arms, I could get a photo of that but ... no. LOL
