I was first introduced to the Chihuahua breed when I was around 6-7 years old on the way to school with my mum I passed a shop who's owners had a Alsation and a Chihuahua that would often be sat outside the shop with the owners wife/son. I was sooo intrigued by this tiny little thing (especially next to the Alsation) and wanted one right away!! ~ I never stopped wanting a chi and spent (literally years) pining over pictures online and looking at ads in the papers and reading up about being a chihuahua owner on websites until I came across and bought Zeus then Isis shortly after.

I have to say now that I finally have my two babies I am so happy to have them and am now even more IN LOVE with the chihuahua breed than ever before. They are such WONDERFUL little gems and (once they learn to use the potty paper/pads) bring so much love and joy into my home and no doubt yours also.

I am continuously telling people what a fantastic breed chihuahuas are and how amazing it is to own them and the difference it makes when you take the proper care to train, nourish and socialise them well.

It does make me emotional and teary eyed because they have brought so much sunshine into my life...if I could afford to buy 3/4 more I would ha ha!! I simply love them SO much!!:love5:

Awww you cutie pie! Yes we are all very fortunate to have these special pups in
our lives. Which is why we owe it to them to take proper care of them. It's the
least we can do for all the love they bring. :)

I have a few friends who want me to bring them by so they can have a play with them - my sister who was never a dog person now wants one and I'm sure I can convince most if not all of my colleagues to get one after bringing them around! ;)

Absolutely a wonderful post!!! Well said LS! I ADORE my Lulu! <3 She is my heart dog! I don't have words for the joy she brings me. I want to do the very best I can for her. It may be because she's mine, but I think she is so smart and so sweet and so loyal and so darling. My husband and I both dote on her--I'm sure from watching It's Me or the Dog to her detriment, yet I don't see her as spoiled or suffering from it, or I would correct it for her good. I'm thankful to find people to share this common bond with. Yes, I have a life--we all do, but it's nice to talk to people who feel as I do about these special creatures.

My chis are constantly changing people's perspective on the breed since most people's first reaction is, "Oh you have a chihuahua??? Aren't they really mean and yappy?" NO! Zeus is the quietest, sweetest thing ever and would never bite anybody. Once my friends play with and met my pups, not only do they love them but hopefully its changed their minds on how a chihuahua's personality varies per dog.

Everyone that has met Toby has been shocked that he is a well behaved, well mannered, "real" dog. He walks on a leash, doesn't yap and loves everybody. I loveeee hearing about other ambassadors of the breed!

The love of a chihuahua is truly like no other. They are loyal, affectionate and wonderful little pets. We are so blessed to have them.

Mine are Chi ambassadors too!
I never saw myself owning a Chihuahua, always liked bigger dogs, but now I am totally hooked. Whenever I come across someone who thinks they are 'rats' or not proper dogs, I have to share my story and explain what amazing dogs Chis are. I cannot imagine owning anything else now.
If I were rich I would have a specialised Chihuahua room, and a houseful of them.

All these posts have put it so well! My chis mean the world to me! I absolutely adore them! I have lupus & cannot be in the sun at all so I busy myself with other good things in this world. Most especially my family & precious chis! They are a wonderful breed & I am so glad I discovered them.

I have fallen in love with Lady in 2 1/2 months. I knew I wanted a small dog that wasn't a puppy and always thought long hair chihuahuas were so cute. Lady is polite, well behaved and a simple joy. I couldn't imagine not having her after a very short period of ownership. She is more than I ever thought a dog could be.
