I don't know much on this topic (and honestly won't look into it) but I once had a friend in high school who said that their friend saved their pup by smoking mj around it and apparently it started wanting to eat. I obviously don't know how true that is/was.
But I'm glad that your mom's 2 dogs are doing better.
