Hi,
Last night Chauncey woke up around five and put his little feet at the edge of his bin, I thought he was fine because normally he doesn't go to potty til 7am. Well, all of the sudden i hear licking and I smell peepee, I felt soooo bad. He went in his bed, he looked super guilty (he's only 4 months but rarely has accidents). Then I took him to the bathroom where his pads are and he squatted until he let 2 or 3 drops go, I think he felt like he needed to let me know that he knows where he should go. I changed his bin and gave him a new blanket. He was ok and I hope it doesn't create a habit.
Has anyone had anything similar happened?
By the way we thought he's old enough to get treats so we can start training him to do stuff and he's been getting Cheerios, now he does a little dance after the potty cuz he knows he's going to get a treat, it's super cute!

Poor little Chauncey... he had to potty and no one cared. :)

I'm sure it won't cause a problem, especially because you took him to his pee pad when you realized. He probably just wonders why you didn't do that BEFORE he had to wet the bed! :D

I know I felt like such a bad Mom, especially because he's a wonderful puppy. I hear him sometimes in the middle of the night, I don't know if he dreams or what (it's kinda weird!) so I figured he was fine, and he's never really up before 7am. I will keep a better eye on him, it was heartbreaking to see his guilty little face and it was my lazy butt's fault :(

By the way does anyone notice movement and noise when your puppy's sleeping. Do they have dreams?
What about hiccups?

Yes and yes. :D Cooper runs marathons in his sleep, dreaming about the day he's got an open field and lots of somethings to chase. He hiccups every now and again but when he was a puppy, I would sneak up on him, grab him and shout "boo!" really loud. They'd go away, he'd have a heart attack and it would be over. Now, all I have to do is say "hey Cooper, boo." and he stops.

Thanks everyone for their replies, I can't wait til Chauncey runs in his sleep.
By the way no more bed accidents and I've been A LOT more attentive, he's been really good.
Another question, I didn't get him with papers; from the pic does he look like a full Chihuahua, or do any of you think he might be mixed?
thanks
Cintia
