I've been searching so many sites for the chihuahua standards but I couldn't really find anything on the size of their ears. A breeder told me the bigger, the better. But I cant seem to find anything on them apart from the angle on their head.

Another thing was the length of their legs. I saw a photo of a champ chi and his legs were very short and quite chunky. Whereas I have seen others with quite lengthy legs. What is the prefered sort?

Short legs and an apple domed head is the preference. As for ears I dont think there is a preference for size. Also showring size is between 2-6lbs.

Bigger is not always better in the show ring. They should sit at 10:00 o'clock and 2:00 o'clock and be proportionate with the head.

The AKC standard reads:
Ears - Large, erect type ears, held more upright when alert, but flaring to the sides at a 45 degree angle when in repose, giving breadth between the ears
