waauw she was really beautiful!!!

she looks like a real huntdog

kisses nat
Very pretty dog! :angel7:
thanks everyone, she was a great looking gal. and since i'm unsure of her past i can only assume she was a hunting dog. she pointed perfectly and felt like that was her job. when i started bringing her to petsmart to point at all of the guinee pigs, rabbits etc i think she felt like she had a purpose again. you can see in the pic the patches of discoloration on her sides, it was from her constant staph infections (they aren't contagious) and i tried to take her to petco but they said not to bring her there she was sickly (nothing she ever had was contagious) and the pointing stressed the small animals out, a sleeping animal is stressed? go figure) but the people over at petsmart where always great to us. they encouraged me to bring her there and let her point. it was ammusing for them. she would stand there for 2 hours! no kidding! i'd be so bored just sitting there on the floor. the one manager brought me over a step stool to sit on so she can "work" latly i've been missing her terribly. thank you for letting me share her with you all. your so kind.

i loved her so much, still do but the "smartest breeds" was um, well uh, not typical of her ;) but she had mental issues the poor thing so it wasn't her fault that she wasn't too bright....
She was beautiful!! That's the kind of dog we want to get next. My man is a hunter and wants a hunting dog. She really was gorgeous! Chiwi is lucky to have a gardian angel dog to watch over her.
Wow, I just read your post in Rainbow Bridge. It made me cry. What a hard decision you had to make - I don't think I could have done it. I am glad she gave you the sign you asked for and I am so sad for your loss it sounds like you were really meant for each other. She will be waiting for you. You might have read this before, but every time I read it, I cry and it makes me think of the day I will get to see the pets that have left me and i smile.

The Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of Heaven is a place called The Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to the Rainbow Bridge.

There are meadows and hills for all our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water, and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals that had been ill or old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. The bright eyes are intent, the eager body quivers. Suddenly they break away from the group, running and leaping over the green grass, their legs carrying them faster and faster.

YOU have been spotted and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion. The happy kisses rain upon your face, your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the eyes of your trusting pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together, never again to be separated.

So true!!...My family has a seven year old German Short Hair, Augie, he's the most sweet, well behaved dog I've ever met. He absolutely loves hunting.

when i started bringing her to petsmart to point at all of the guinee pigs, rabbits etc i think she felt like she had a purpose again
LOL! I can just see her doing that, that's a great memory, thank you for sharing it. Augie points at things out the window the last time I was at my mom's house he was pointing at a squirrel that was sitting on the deck when we woke up, my mom thinks he'd been there for a while!
What a beautiful girl your Tasha was. What a brave soul she was and how good of her to have given you that sign you so desperately needed. I've read her story and I've cried over it. I'm almost crying now, just thinking about how she suffered. I know you must miss her terribly but I do believe she's watching over your new baby, happy you have someone to love again. Our animals enrich our lives in ways we couldn't have imagined. And when they are truly loved, as Tasha was, they are never far from our thoughts and they live in our hearts forever.

Lily was best friends with a german shorthaired pointer at daycare for nearly 2 years. That dog passed away last Thanksgiving weekend. I still miss seeing his sweet face and I have no doubt Lily misses him too. You should have seen them together, all 3.5 pounds of her and all 60 pounds of him. :)

Thanks for sharing this picture of your sweet girl.
Gorgeous dog. I will have to go read her story
thank you all so much for letting me remember her here and share with you all how much she meant to me.
