Ember nearly gave me a heart attack. I was out back with her and Trigger and she squeezed through the fence! I began to try and lure her back but she ignored me a bit, too interested in a smell. I flew up the steps, into the house and out the front door. Trigger followed but I made him stay out back just in case. I yelled and screamed "EMBER!!!!! EMBER!" and she never came. I was about to have a heart attack when I heard an owl go HOO HOO HOO HOOOOO! But then before I fell to the ground screaming Ember walked up to the fence from the other side! 0_0 It's like she never got out. Phew. I hugged her until I couldn't anymore, never was so happy to see her in my life.

Thank God I found her...:toothy8::happy7:

Glad she came back! Your heart had to have sank.

First thing we learned in Kinder Puppy was "look" and it's a bacon saver. If she gets out running & I need her to come back to the house "look" makes her run to me like a streak. We have a huge fenced in yard, but a little dog chasing leaves in the wind doesn't always tire quickly enough. So "look" gets used often. It's something that is very simple for them to learn, brings them back when you need them and also is the gateway to learning additional things ~ whatever you might want them to be. At first she was given a small piece of scrumptious treat but then I began mixing it up with lovin & a treat to keep her guessing ~ she's a gambler & loves the odds though and always comes back for "it".

We ended up taking down my cute white picket fence (that they could sqeeze through) and putting in a yucky chain link fence that is practically prison proof! Oh well, I'll sacrifice my fence for the safety of my babies any day!

Hope you get your fence situation fixed... What a horrible scare ( which is why I choose ugly over cute...I'd have a heart attack for sure).

To be fair, we also changed out the fence to keep other bigger dogs out too...a couple charged ours to get to the Chi's and it was terrible.

I like the "look" command as well as "come" but mine are not at that point where I am confident it will always happen...they are still to young & stubborn ;)

This is the same here. Rico knows his basic commands in Spanish and the situation is the same if here does come running for "Rico ven, ven aca.." all I have to say is "Mira !!" and he flies...lol
