right you all may think im mad now but i do have to tell you this.
my mother in law has a bullmastiff that got cancer (just like our baby)
but anyway she was so upset it was unreal so she sat on the internet for months researching this but this is what she found out

* cottage cheese and flaxceed oil cause a chemical reaction which has been known to back the cancer off.
* A scientist has known this for years and she wanted to cure humans with it but.... she got paid off and was told the world was over populated that they could not bring this into the public interest. (how true i dont no)
but her is a link Holistic Dog - Flaxseed Oil

the day my mother inlaws dog got took in they told her that she has 3 months to live but a year and a half later her health is better her breathing is better and the lump has halved in size. she is a totally diffrent dog and even the vets are shocked it seems like she is getting fitter every day and her lump is tiny now.
i do know you have to stick to the diet everyday otherwise it wont work !!!!!

So by "sticking to the diet" do you mean that is all they eat?

I did some digging, and the doctor that "invented" the diet had a lot of malpractice claims against her.

thing is i to did alot of digging and yes you are totally right but there is alot of humans who have done this and think that they have beat cancer (how true i dont no)
but i do know ther is a special diet my in laws dog has flax oil and cottage cheese 3 times a day but also has kibble.
how true this is im really unsure. All i do know is the vet told my inlaws she had 3 months to live and year and half later she has got so much better. and her lump is now tiny. i will try get some pics and add them.
Just thought i would let everyone know what we have found and our own out come. xx
has anybody else herd and tryed this ????????
Yes, I've heard of this. There are tons and tons of supposed cancer cures out there. When my Bichon girl, Lacy, was diagnosed with cancer, I did a lot of research. She had cancer in the roof of her mouth and nasal passages. We managed to slow the cancer down for about 30 days, but then it returned with a vengence and I had to let her go. I have given my dogs cottage cheese and flaxseed oil, but not three times a day. I'm glad it did seem to work for your in-law's dog. Did the dog get any other kind of treatment? Can't argue with success, but if it worked, seems like more doctors and vets would be looking at it. The story of the scientist who got "paid off" because they, whoever they may be, didn't want it made public is a bit ridiculous. She obviously made it public anyway and the "rebel scientist with a cure for cancer" makes a good story. When you get a cancer diagnosis, you feel helpless and angry and overwhelmed and want to do something and cottage cheese and flaxseed oil shouldn't be harmful, so it would be OK to give it a try, in addition to all the traditional treatments recommended by doctors or vets. I would need to see more than one dog myself who improved with this treatment before I put much faith in it.

Who knows ???
but in my in laws eyes they swear by it 100%
this is there last bit of hope and i do hope she lives longer
I'm always glad to hear success stories of non-medicinal cures for things. I do believe there's a lot to them... and sadly because so many of these things are "simple" and "cheap" there's no reason/incentive for scientists to spend the money doing actual studies on them. The FDA doesn't want people to be able to stop by an herbal supply store and get all the cures for ailments because nobody would turn to their doctor for pricey prescription meds anymore. Now don't get me wrong, there are definitely some drugs out there that do wonders but I do believe there are natural alternatives to many things. Take Aloe Vera for example; there are SO many testimonials from people saying it helped cure heartburn as well as other issues. But a pharmacy company isn't going to be able to support itself investing their funds into studies dedicated to a plant that the average joe can keep around for pennies. (Seriously, we paid 25 cents for the one that sits on our kitchen windowsill.) =P
And don't even get me started on the benefits of marijuana... I get so upset seeing all the negative propaganda that revolves around a NATURAL PLANT. And how much money and tax dollars is spent on putting someone in jail because they have... A PLANT. When did NATURE become a crime?? The statistics of countries and places where marijuana is legal have astounding less problems than we do here trying to criminalize it. It's a LEAF. And only MADE illegal because of the HEMP industry... ok I'll get off my soapbox LOL. Just wanted to chime in and give my 2 cents that I'd be willing to give any natural cure a shot before pilling up with something a pharmaceutical company made.
