My neighbor has two tiny chihuahua's, a male long coat and a female smooth coat. They are both not spayed or neutured! This lady claims her chihuahua's are "teacups" and was planing to breed. Her male is appx 2 lbs, and her girl is appx 2 1/2 lbs. I told her how dangerous it was and she agreed not to breed. She had called to make a spay and neuture date but before it could happen her female came into heat, shes always tried to keep them seperate, but now her tiny little girl is pregnant! How irresponsible! Im realy concerned for her female and the pups, what should she do? What are the chances of her living threw the pregnancy and delivery?

* I posted this on the breeders forum, but for those who do not have accsess I posted in chi chat aswell*

cant you still abort the pregnancy? I remember when i was in grammar school they taught us about spaying and neutering and they actually brought in a uterus from a cat that had kittens in it because they aborted the pregnancy. So why doesnt she just do that?

I agree, she should really have the pregnancy terminated. I'm not at all famliar with breeding, but from what I've learned on here she's to small to have babies. Just let her kno that it won't be considered bad for her terminating it, because she will most likely be saving the female's life.

My cat Cinnamon got out of the house about 8 months after she had her litter of kittens and she got pregnant again, and I ended up having the pregnancy terminated and getting her spayed all at once. It's not that she would have died from having another litter or anything, but I just didn't want to add to the over population of kittens in the world. Her first litter wasn't even supposed to happen, but we didn't know she was pregnant until it was to late...and I'm glad she had her litter because then I wouldn't have my kitty Gizmo, and all the other kittens went to good, loving homes.

I called my local animal protection place and they said they cant do anything about it. They said its not seen legally as crulety to animals or neglect. I said you try being the 2 1/2 pound dog carrying the puppies and then you can tell me its not crule! and then I hung up  I was just angery, I called back later and appologized, he was nice about it. The lady took her chi to the vet and the vet said she should terminate the pregnancy. I told her she should too, and she dosnt know if shes going to because she thinks its "too mean"
