Greenies

I am not sure about the 1st question but the name of the products you are asking about is called Greenies, the other one I know of is called denta bone but my dogs do not seem to like them as much. I have heard bad things about them as with any dog chew or raw hide but I have never had any problems and I think they are alot less dangerous than raw hides. Research them yourself and find out what is best for you.

I cal greenies "puppy crack" because my dogs loooovvveee! them. they keep them occupied for hours,
Dogs loves greenies but I would stay clear. We stopped giving them when one of our dogs almost choked on the toothbrush end of the greenie!
Marcus is up to two Greenies a week now and would love to have more. He's never had any problem choking on them but he's a dainty chewer (eater?)

I've heard some people say the stuff to stop the poo eating works quite well but I have no personal experience.
Greenies should be fine as long as you supervise when your chi is chewing on one.
Cooper loves Greenies! They're his absolute favorite thing in the world. He has never had problems choking on them but he also gets the petite sized ones and not the teenies. I'm sure he'd choke on the teeny ones because he'd just swallow the entire thing.

Cooper has been getting Greenies since the first day he was home and his teeth are in perfect condition. I've never noticed him having bad breath (mine's usually worse) and I guess it might be because of the Greenies because I don't give him anything else. They have a website if you want to learn more about them at http://www.greenies.com.

Some people complain of green poop and a small bit of diarrhea associated with the Greenies but Cooper has never had that problem.
Yes supervision is the key when it comes to Greenies. Mine are not allowed to eat them without me being home and once they get small I take them away from them and throw them out to avoid the choking possibility.

I agree that they are crack for dogs. :D

As far as your first question...I have no clue.

Wow Nat. I have never heard of a doggie that didn't like greenies. I have a very picker eater and he loves them to death.

Hiya  Yes I know about ' deter ' , it is natural so it is safe :) ( and it sells quite well ) it's not something I would use because if my guy was 'poop eating' I'd like to try other ideas ( like change of diet etc ) before I used ' deter ' ..

Jasmine is another one of those "odd" ones who doesn't like greenies either. I bought a couple of small ones at Petsmart not long after I got her last year, and she just sniffed at it and walked away. I've since read several articles about greenies being possible cause of intestinal blockage. I did ask my vet about them, and she wasn't overly enthused about them, and said she preferred the C.E.T. chews.

I have a friend at work who had a real problem with her Yorkie and poop eating, and she swears by pineapple. Said one of her friends suggested it to her, so she tried it and claims it works like a charm. She just adds a couple of chunks of canned pineapple to their food at night. I have no idea if this really works, or if it does work, why it works, as I haven't tried it. But, I guess you haven't anything to lose by giving it a try. Jasmine just sort of outgrew this yucky habit.
Coprophagia treatment to deter from poop eating I giving my older chi Prozyme its been about 3 months and has been working great she was terrible. I pick any up as soon as possible too. This product is super i use it for skin and coat, digestion , and allergies and has many more uses.

kvvet.com
jeffers pet supply some places that carry this product

Iwill try finding the link to their website of you like for the Prozyme product.
Gadget doesn't like greenies either..

And yes Deter is ok to give thema nd yes it does work... I gave gadget 2 doses and he has never even offered to sniff his poop let alone eat it....
Thanks guys! Well I ordered the greenies in petite size so its too late now!! I'll supervise her eating and give them a go and let you know if she likes them!! I didn't order the deter yet though. I'll try the pinapple idea first! :D

Cool :) Just out of interest what are you feeding her ? :):)
If you don't want to get the greenie toothbrush they also make teeny tiny greenie pieces that look like tiny kibbles of food.
Hi !

I'm feeding her Science Plan but in the process of trying to buy the Royal Canin instead!

Slight problem.... the Greenies arrived and she went crazy for them! I got the Petite toothbrush ones and she polished one off in about 20 mins!! Anyway I just had a look on the packet and it says for dogs 6 months and older!! So now I'm worried.... would they be ok for her or should I not give her anymore! She's only had one and was fine. She's 4 months old now and she does love them so!! :D

I would wait untill she is 6 months , I'm sure she will be fine and it won't hurt her this once but i'd still wait myself :)
Tucker loves Greeneies---they are his absolute favorite treat. He gets one 'Teenie' size a day and one 'Petite' size per week. He's been eating them since he was about 4 months old and we've never had any problems. :)
