Morning from the UK!! Did your chi's have a great weekend?
Rupert had a great time, we had a birthday party at my mother in laws where he met a Yorkie who nearly bit him, she's not very well socialised and doesn't get out much, then Saturday was a trip to a lovely very well known restaurant where he dined on steak and carrots! Then yesterday another party where he was served lamb and cous cous! He's a very tired boy today and wil be watching tv and curling up, after breakfast first though!!
I realised how amazing it is when you have a small dog how many people come to talk to you!!

Whenever I take Mylo to the vet or my sisters people stop me in the street or nudge the person next to them and say 'aw'. My chi met the mother in law yesterday. He loves new people. I think he even managed to win her over, an avid cat person. A restaurant let him in? I wish I could take Mylo out more. Where in th UK are you?

Hi, I'm also here in good old England, aren't we primitive when it comes to allowing pets in anywhere really. I take Bella with me everywhere but often Hubby ends up standing outside with her. I don't think he minds this too much though as I often come out of the shops to find him surrounded by adoring women, alas not adoring him though. We have found a nice place not too far from us in Garstang that allows dogs in. It has lovely open fires and you can get a drink and a meal. It's called "Owd Nells" it is right next to a canal and there is a lovely canal walk for the dogs for after your lunch, well worth a drive out.

I live in Rutland in the uk, we are quite fortunate where we are as nearly everyone has a dog but usually labs, spaniels and terriers. I have selected vision and find myself ignoring the no dog policy, unless it's a supermarket or something like that! We go into banks, pubs and shops etc with no trouble! I did take ruperts bag to the restaurant as I wasn't sure of he would be allowed in but no one even questioned it!

It would be nice if more places allowed dogs. I feel uncomfortable going into shops if I'm not sure he's allowed. I had to stop in at the chemist on the way back from the vets do I asked if I could bring him in with me and the woman asked what time I would be in so she could make sure she was there. I wish I could take him more places. We do have a pub that allows dogs in but they're all huge...I'm not sure how Mylo would feel about them.

Wow, sounds like he had a blast! I live in Sweden and I am nervous about taking Gemma into most places. Usually if I need to go into a shop, I will sneak her in with her little tote bag. Every time we've asked if we could take her in anywhere, though, they have allowed it. I was even allowed to sit on the balcony dining area of a cafe with her. That was pretty cool and unexpected. The first day I came home with her, we had to stop in the grocery store on the way back and I carried her through the store wrapped up in a blanket and all the employees just smiled, lol. I guess with Chis you can get away with a little more because they're so tiny and cute!

I wish we had stores or restaurants that were truly dog-friendly, though. We don't have anything for dog-friendly stores or places here at all that I'm aware of, other than the pet store.

Thanks for that Michele, I'll take a look. I wish there were more dog friendly places. I've taken Mylo to pets at home. I think we do get away with more because they're little and cute and because you're holding them. I live right by the beach and park so I can't wait to take Mylo out to them. I can't wait to see his reaction to sand.

Thanks michelle, that's handy to have I didn't realise so many pubs near me allowed dogs!! Maybe I should pay a visit!! I had to stop at Morrisons (grocery store) last week while out with rupert, I don't leave him in the car on his own, so I popped him in his carrier and took him in with me in the shopping trolly! I'm lucky that he likes his bag and he snuggles down for a nap, I think if he was barking and whining someone might have kicked us out!!
