Doggy dreams???

870 Views 7 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Auggies Mom
Hello all...

I have had my mini for 2 days now and I have observed something peculiar while she sleeps. She tends to bark faintly and twitch or kick. She's been dealing with fleas since I got her and last nite, I ran the flea comb thru her and caught a few big ones. I'm gonna bathe her tonite. Question, what do you think it is? Is it just doggy dreams? Thanks.

My chi boths twitches a bit and barks sometimes in her sleep. I think it is normal. She doesn't really twitch so much now, but did when I first got her. And the barking thing is so cute. ;)
Yes, I think it is dreams.
Dogs and cats dream, we can only imagine what they dreaming about though LOL

Hopefully treats and playing
I've never had a dog this small before and had never really watched my other dogs sleep probably because they were in their own dog house in the back yard. Dezi is getting a lot of special treatment. I had her doggy bed situated next to mine and she woke up 5 times last nite. A few times she did because she needs to go pee. The other times, I think she's just missing her mom and having her head rest on her mom's tummy. I know she'd cried for her too. Anyhow, I wasn't getting much sleep and was already 3am so I decided to put her on my chest. Finally, we both slept for the rest of the night. Am I going too far with this? I don't want to spoil her this way but I figured since she's in a new surroundings, I'd accomodate her til she's more acclimated. Right now, she's at work with me and she's asleep next to my chair in her bed with a mini-blanket over her. :love2:

It's your choice if you want her to sleep with you or not.
I have 2 chis and they both sleep with me. But remember once you start it, you will have to keep it up or she'll start whinning all over again.
At least until she is older and can decide for herself where she wants to sleep.
Thanks. I had no idea how needy chi's get at this age. I don't dislike it at all I mean look at her...who can say no to that? At the same time, I tell myself.....WHAT DID I GET MYSELF INTO??? Still, I'm committed to this lil one.
I think Auggie sometimes dreams he is chasing something because his little feet start running in his sleep and sometimes his tail starts to twitch :D
