Every site on the net I've looked at says females go into first heat between 6-12 months old. Sugar will be a year old in 7 days and still no heat, might she not go into heat ever? I thought she wud have had it by now, it doesn't mean there's anything wrong with her does it?

She may have already had her first heat but she just had a "silent" heat meaning she displayed no major signs of being in heat. I know a lot of our mares used to be like that when we were into breeding horses.

It's very possible she went into heat and you just didn't notice. Will she be spayed?

Rocki took two years just a couple months ago she went into heat. She'll be three this year. But she's also a larger breed which I read took longer.
Daisy is going into heat right now.

I think dogs are like humans their become a woman on their own time.

YES both will be fixed.

A year old is not unusual for a first season. I would expect her to come into season in the next few months.
