The one room Lily has always avoided is the kitchen, I think because she doesn't like the slippery floor. Every now and then, if I'm cooking something especially yummy, she will wander just a few feet into the kitchen. She never goes any further and she never stays more than a minute or so.

The past few nights she's started coming in when I'm making dinner. It's just been salad every time so I know it isn't the smell that's enticing her. This morning I decided to make my corn salad early so it would have all day to marinate. I was out there chopping away and I heard this snuffling sound (Lily breathing  ). Sure enough, she's come all the way into the kitchen and she's walking around, checking everything out. She keeps looking up at me and I let her smell several ingredients so she knows it's nothing she wants. I give her a smidgen of cheese as a reward for being there.

She ended up staying the entire 15-20 minutes, quite content to just stand there and watch. She waited while I cleaned up my mess, I gave her another piece of cheese and she escorted me back into the living room.

I'll be so happy if she keeps this up because I love cooking but I hate being away from her. Come winter I'll even put a bed out there so she can stay nice and warm while watching mom cook. :)

Are there any rooms your chi's don't like, for whatever reason?

Lily is so cute! Haha! Well, Miss Bella doesnt like the kitchen too much either cuz that is where she is left when mommy leaves. She doesn't like my guest bathroom, but she has this love for my office. I have no idea why, but she likes to leave me presents in the corner of the office. I think she likes it cuz there are these HUGE mirrors on one wall and she plays with the puppy in the mirror. Then again there are the same ones in my room, who knows... SHe's a silly one! :D

Marcus was afraid of the kitchen for the first couple of months we had him. He would go into the room but never alone and he preferred to sit at the edge of the room and watch what you were doing. I thought maybe it was the tile floor till I realized the tile in the master bath didn't bother him any. I finally decided it might be the noises we tend to make in kitchens. We chop, blend, grind, coffee pots gurgle and tea kettles whistle.

Awww, Rach, I'm so glad. I really don't know why, but that just made me all teary-eyed. Maybe it's because Lily has really come out of her shell.

Give her a big smooch for me - oh, and a big one from Jasmine too!!
Oh geez, now I'm all teary-eyed because you're all teary-eyed. What a couple of softies we are.

That is great Lily! :D

My boys go everywhere in the house. On top of couches, on top of pillows, Mr. Peepers jumps in my bath tub and Buster likes to stand on my desk where my computer is.

Lily,
I am so happy you are going to be ok with the kitchen. Cocoa likes the kitchen as I have MS, and when I cook I always drop things like meat. I try to get them off floor sooner than he can pick them up, but today I made a snickers cake, and he stayed in his room so that he wouldn't get chocolate that I droped. I am sorry if my spelling is bad as I am so tired after a hard day of playing with Cocoa. I actually played on my stomach with Cocoa today after my feeding tube was removed. My GI said this was going to be good for Cocoa and me to be able to play even more with my chi baby. I hope you all chi mamas and daddys and chi babys have a great weekend.

I'm very proud of my little girl too. Our relationship does seem to improve almost daily. I mean, I always think our bond is as strong as it can possibly be and then somehow it gets even stronger. :)

I'm really thrilled that Lily doesn't mind the kitchen floor anymore. Now I can think seriously about having all my flooring replaced (tile in the kitchen and bathrooms and Pergo everywhere else). The one thing stopping me (aside from not having the money  ) was that I was afraid Lily would hate it and be scared in every room.

Now I just have to work on the money part. :D
