First trip to someone ELSE's house....**update**

We are going to visit my Aunt and Uncle which are about 2 hours away from us. Corky is a good car rider so I am not worried about that part. What I am worried about is that he about 85% potty trained and I don't want him to potty in my aunt's house.

We were going to bring his playpen and toys and put his potty pads in the playpen. (They have two outside dogs and Corky has only 3 of his 4 vaccination sets so pottying outside is not an option.) I plan to watch him in there or have him with me or hubby.

Our alternative is to leave him at home in his kennel and my mother in law can only come by once and we will be gone 12-14 hours probably. That wasn't an option for me because that is too long to be in his kennel and alone.

Any tips or ideas to make sure he doesn't soil my aunt's house?

Thanks.

Take him out to do his business often... or take him to the potty pad, whichever you have him trained to do. Just keep an eye on him, watch for the potty dance they all do and act quickly... you should be fine.

You might also want to pack a little bottle of Natures Miracle or whatever you use to clean his accidents, just in case. :D

If the dogs outside are vaccinated, taking him into the yard isn't that big of a health concern, but I wouldn't keep him out for long periods of time.
yeah the best solution is to take him out a lot  i always fear for accidents with someone else too :?

cosmo peed all over my gran's carpet  he thought it was one big potty pad :D

:sign5: He was probably thinking "WOW, would you look at the size of that toilet?!"
it will a good experience for corky to visit someones house and iad in his socialization.
I get scared to about keeks make a mess in someone elses house, at least its a relative and someone who owns dogs, theyll obviously undertsand that accidents might happen so dont worry to much.
Dont give corky run of the house, and always have him wear u can see him, keep him on ur lap as much as possible and if he starts motioning to get off, take himto the puppy pad first.
hope u and corky enjoy ur visit

Corky did SO well on our day trip to my Aunt and Uncle's! He was sucha good boy. He didn't fight us when he needed to be in his playpen and he only pottied in his playpen on his potty pads. He didn't bite hardly and he was very sociable. He slept on the way up and back. He was such a good boy, I am very proud of him! He got a couple of new shirts from Petsmart for being a good boy! He was very happy to be home though. He did zoomies for about 30 minutes!!!

Thanks for your tips!
Awww, what a good boy! Makes you feel proud, huh?
