While I was on vacation I picked up this book at Cracker Barrel called City Dog. It is a great reference for all the hotels (expensive/cheap) that allow dogs and the services they provide for them. So for us that don't like to travel without our chi's it is a good reference.

Thanks for the tip! I think Kristin already has it, but if not, I'll buy it for her!

For those in California, there's also "Dog Lover's Guide to California" and also one for Bay Area and Los Angeles. Great books that give you all sorts of things to do with your dog, pet friendly restaurants, hotels, dog parks, etc...

I've seen a couple books like that, they had that one and another one at the airport and they look like great resources for traveling. In the past we've just called around...Holiday Inns are usually ok with pets.

Most La Quintas also allow dogs. I am sure it has been mentioned here before but there is also a website petswelcome.com which has good info
