Im sure that some of you saw in the million thread that i was attempting to make a snuggle bed today..well here it is. Its definatly not perfect I took a pic of my bad handstitching around the top so you all could see, it wasnt easy to do & I ran into some issues but I am proud of myself for sticking it out & finishing it.Today was also the very first time I have ever used a sewing machine in my life..

Great job Brandi! I love the color scheme!
Friday seems to be enjoying himself :)
thanks Therese

the fabric said it was vintage I washed it this morning & it was a dark color seems it was sooo old I washed half the color right out of it lol but it looks nicer now IMO..I used my mini sewing machine (one of those $30 from walgreens lol) I sewed most of it crooked it does have a few straight spots though (pats self on the back) I couldnt figure out how to sew around the top with the sewing machine so I had to hand sew it but at least I did finish it.

Good job particularly since you never had lessons and you had a little machine that probably doesn't sew very straight. A regular sewing machine does most of the straight sewing for you, and you just have to kind of guide the fabric in so it doesn't get crooked.

Great job on hand sewing. I won't sew by hand for more than a few stitches and you went all the way around the top.

I hope your nice bed inspires you to try another sewing project.

Very nice. And Friday is enjoying it. And that is all that really matters LOL. I really need another one. Toby sleeps in the one I have every night. Macy just looks at him then goes under the covers with me. But believe me when he's not looking she will climb in for a sneeky minute. Anyway good job.

that is the same problem I was having..there is always a fight around here for who gets to use the one snuggle bed ..I am still 1 short so I may have to give it another try & do a second one..

I had bought this lil sewing machine years ago when I was wanting to make a belly band for chili to help with marking I couldnt figure out how to use it or how to thread the darn thing so I threw it back in the box & was done...Its funny that a piece of material & the need to make my dogs happy made me get it out & try again. It took me forever to get it threaded & then it would slip out cause I had it wrong very frusterating but I stuck with it. Tader was sleeping in the bed this morning which made me happy. Now I just need 1 more bed for Piper. I have another piece of material so if I can find a pillow case that isnt in use then I may try another one...

Great job Brandi I've been sewing all afternoon. Little trick make sure you reverse stitch at the beginning and end it'll stop it coming undone!!

Funny enough I'm going out to buy some faux fur tomorrow to make daisy one. Did you pad the bottom out at all?? I'm considering it not sure yet!!!
