I know this topic has been discussed many times over, But I have a question. Someone told me a Pet-Smart today that chihuahua's are the fastest maturing breed and they are full grown by 6 months? Is this true? When did you chihuahua stop growing?

Yes, this is exactly what my vet told me.

To an extent that might be true. But, I think that it also depends on the particular dog. I know that Taco continued to grow taller and longer until he was 8 months.

I heard 1 of our years is equal to 7 dogs years. so 6 months would be 3 and a hald years. and 8 months would probably make him around 4-5 years old???? in dogs years :?

yeah my jacob stop getting any taller longer at around that age his hair is stil growing though gradually

I think Gadget is going to bethis short stalky boy... He hasn't grown in height or length since he was about 6 months but he has filled out very little.. he was playing with his mom and dad the other day and his tiny little dad still towers over him.. but Gadget is a lot more wider in the butt then his dad.... I don't think he will grow that much more... he is 4 1/2 pounds...

I would say it depends on the dog...My Charlie got a lot bigger after six months, he probably stopped getting taller and longer at around 8 mos. like others said but he still filled out more after that. He was 6.5lbs. at seven mos. and is 8lbs. :shock: now at almost a year. :lol: He really likes to eat, and will eat anything so that might also have something to do with it lol :lol:
