Well, I guess this is where I should start posting.

I have a 3 year old female, named Carmela. She actually wasn't mine originally... my roommate got her and she sort of, er, imprinted on me, so now I have a ridiculous little dog that goes everywhere with me. I'm pretty lucky in that my job encourages bringing her in. But yeah.

Everyone likes pictures, so here's a picture:

Wow! What a beauty! What a wonderful little Applehead she has. Please post more pics. I think she is gorgeous.

EDIT: LOL in my haste to say how beautiful your girl is, I forgot to say welcome XD
Hey! Welcome!
Your pup's beautiful!!! :p
Thanks for the welcome. Would you believe I wasn't even a dog person before her, let alone a [l]little[/l] dog person. Heh... now there are times when I feel like I may be a little bit too much of one.

Haha, yup they steal your heart and don't let go! :D
Hubby was a cat person before we met, now he can't go to bed without his puppy kisses and cuddles, lol, don't tell him I told you that!!! LOL
Your girl is beautiful, and there is nothing wrong with a man loving a little dog, real men love Chihuahuas! ;)
Welcome! She really is a beautiful little dog. I think it's cool that a guy loves a little dog like that. My husband told me that our little dog is a babe magnet - everytime he carries her out he gets surrounded by women wanting to pet her. He said if he'd known about that when he was single, he would've gotten his own little dog a long time ago.
"Real men love chihuahuas" I LOVE that quote LS lol!!
My OH's family never had dogs growing up. Now, all 3 sons have at least one Chihuahua lol!
Welcome to the forum, your pup is adorable!
So pretty!
Don't feel badly. My husband is a 6'3" race car driving, guy's guy and 3 tiny little wagging tails (all female) follow him everywhere he goes. He might not tell you so, but he loves it.
Welcome AJ! What a beautiful litte dog!! Sounds like she chose a good guy. When we got our first Chihuahua JJ and my husband totally fell in love with him, I found and emailed him the following. Hope you can appreciate it too:

"What His Dog Says About Him"
There’s a 90% chance this pooch is leftover from its owner's ex-girlfriend. There’s a 10% chance the guy's just got a great sense of humor. Regardless, if he’s willing to walk a dainty doggie, he’s probably pretty confident in his manhood — and in its ability to win you over. Just approach with a touch of caution: Most Chihuahuas are extremely protective of their owners.

:D
She's dressed even sports an American flag or two. You said you weren't a dog guy especially a little dog guy, but I beg your pardon ~ you were you just didn't know it ;P and she definitely knew!

I love that picture of her in your lap ~ that's a keeper! I don't normally comment on the pictures just because I like them all. But I love that pix of her on your lap! Glad you two found each other.

Aww that's so cute!!! :p Mine is a 6'2" tough Irishman, yet everyday he comes
home from work first thing he does is give Chanel the biggest hello full of cuddles
and kisses, lol. "Oh who's a pretty girl?! Who loves her papa?! Oh papa missed his
baby!" LOL
She is adorable! I love guys that love these lil dogs.. it shows their sweet sensitive side. :love2: My big 6'5 hubby loves our girls... and I have the pics to prove it! He didn't think he was a lil dog person either, well, still doesn't. He didn't even want me to get the girls! But now I know, he couldn't imagine life without them. ;)
My big 6'5 hubby loves our girls...

Wow we all have really tall husbands! LOL

I work at a residential program for developmentally disabled adults... so she hangs out with me at the office, and when I go to the homes of my individuals she tags along. Fortunately she seems to like all of my clients, so it works out.

I was always a cat person, too... my family had a 200Lbs Newfoundland, but I didn't really bond with him... instead, I had a little calico cat for twenty years, from the age of 8 until 28, who bizarrely had kind of dog-like loyalty to her, so that's what I'd gotten used to. After that, I never really looked at a pet until this Carmela ended up picking me.

It's strange, because I've almost gotten the exact opposite reaction. When I take her for a walk or on a car ride or something, every giant, burly truck driver, construction worker, toll collector or police officer fawns over her while most of the women either ignore her completely or shoot me a kind of disgusted look.

That could also just be a New Jersey reaction, too, because when I'm in Maryland or something she gets harangued by everyone universally.

Maybe it's a theme, because I'm 6'3" myself. Maybe the size of the dog is inversely proportional to the size of the person walking them.
