Well, I guess this is where I should start posting.

I have a 3 year old female, named Carmela. She actually wasn't mine originally... my roommate got her and she sort of, er, imprinted on me, so now I have a ridiculous little dog that goes everywhere with me. I'm pretty lucky in that my job encourages bringing her in. But yeah.

Everyone likes pictures, so here's a picture:

Thanks for the welcome. Would you believe I wasn't even a dog person before her, let alone a [l]little[/l] dog person. Heh... now there are times when I feel like I may be a little bit too much of one.

awww very cute! hi and welcome. a job that encourages bringin in sucha cutie is what kind of job may i ask? :albino:
I work at a residential program for developmentally disabled adults... so she hangs out with me at the office, and when I go to the homes of my individuals she tags along. Fortunately she seems to like all of my clients, so it works out.

Hubby was a cat person before we met, now he can't go to bed without his puppy kisses and cuddles, lol, don't tell him I told you that!!! LOL
I was always a cat person, too... my family had a 200Lbs Newfoundland, but I didn't really bond with him... instead, I had a little calico cat for twenty years, from the age of 8 until 28, who bizarrely had kind of dog-like loyalty to her, so that's what I'd gotten used to. After that, I never really looked at a pet until this Carmela ended up picking me.

Welcome! She really is a beautiful little dog. I think it's cool that a guy loves a little dog like that. My husband told me that our little dog is a babe magnet - everytime he carries her out he gets surrounded by women wanting to pet her. He said if he'd known about that when he was single, he would've gotten his own little dog a long time ago.
It's strange, because I've almost gotten the exact opposite reaction. When I take her for a walk or on a car ride or something, every giant, burly truck driver, construction worker, toll collector or police officer fawns over her while most of the women either ignore her completely or shoot me a kind of disgusted look.

That could also just be a New Jersey reaction, too, because when I'm in Maryland or something she gets harangued by everyone universally.

Wow we all have really tall husbands! LOL
Maybe it's a theme, because I'm 6'3" myself. Maybe the size of the dog is inversely proportional to the size of the person walking them.
