Grrrr.....some people!

I just had to write and tell all of you my experience today. I'm so mad! I know you'll all understand my frustration. I live in a rural area where the houses are situated on approx. 1/2 acre lots on a rural road that most people travel approx. 40-50 mph. Well, I went to leave to go to the grocery and a neighbor's female boxer was running around my truck as I was leaving. I saw how unsafe this was, so I pulled back in my drive to try to confine her. She was very friendly and I managed to get her in the back-yard. I then drove down to the neighbor's (probably about 3/4 of a mile) to inform them that I had their dog confined in my backyard. I assumed that they would immediatly come get her. But NO, he told me to just let her go and he would call her home. I was so frustrated. I had just told him that she was running around in the road. Needless to say, I didn't let her loose. I went back home, put her in my truck (even though she was all muddy, it was raining) and drove her back home. What is the matter with some people. It's a shame that they don't care more about their pet than that. Sorry, this is so long. Just had to vent. I know you will all understand. :x

You did the right thing so dont worry, shame that dog has such irresponsible owners........
I cannot believe some people!! That is ridiculous!
Totally irresponsible. :( You did the right thing, even though it doesn't appear it was appreciated.
geez. i could see your frustration. i would have been mad too! we have neighbors like that down the street. their dog got out all the time to come visit me and the last time i told them if she gets out when i move, she will be coming with me. they do better at keeping her in the yard now.
 --There is this mean yorkie that runs all over our neighborhood-the fist time I saw him he was in the street and barking at us(my chis & I were on a walk) I approached him and he lunged at me and almost bit me! He basically chased us home! Every time I've seen him I tried to follow him-from a distance-but he just comes after me, and chases me to my drive way-then he turns and runs away. Animal Control says they can't do anything unless he bites someone! Even though I don't like this dog, I'd hate to see him hit by a car  Some people just should'nt have pets!
I am a nurse in the community and I am always shocked at how many people allow their animals to run loose.... on one reserve I go to it is so upsetting....the dogs lie in the ditch and then run out at the car....sometimes they surround the car and you can't move and no one even blinks an eye......I blow my horn and still, the people just look at me as if to say " what's your problem ? " I have talked to animal control about this and their attitude is ..oh well...they are as bad as the owners ! I would never forgive myself if I hit one of the dogs.
When ever i see a pet outside my gate i let it in my yard and call dog warden. better in the pound then road pizza i figure. If the owners have to pay a fine I think they will think twice before allowing it to roam. It always pays to hit someone where it hurts thats when a lesson is learned aim for the pockets lol  .

As for the pitbulls running around on property unleashed isnt there a leash law?
i couldn't stand the thought that my dogs have a chance they might get hit by a car :?

grr some people

I don't know about other states, but in Florida if you live outside the city limits, there is sometimes a leash law but trying to get it enforced is impossible. I fought this battle many times when my children were younger, and to my knowledge not once did AC ever pick up a dog. Not even the one who had tried several times to bite some of the neighborhood children. The most they ever did (if they even bothered to come out) was talk to the owner and advise them to keep it in fenced yard or on leash.

I love animals, especially dogs, but I get totally frustrated at irresponsible owners who let their dogs roam anywhere they wish. Sorry, did not mean to get on my soapbox, but this is a pet peeve with me.
