When my baby get like that, I actually gently rub their tummy. If they don't move away, I get a little more aggressive in my 'rubbing'. It helps move the gas around, and hopefully gets things 'moving' again. IF the dog cries or tries to get away, do not do this. My chi, Zarita has eating issues and is on Zantac (vet prescribed). She really does like me to do this when her abdomen is really tight. She never cries, or moves away. Good luck.

My Kahlua has a sensitive tummy, and I do just what Susan does. Kahlua will come up to me when she's not feeling right and just roll over on her back as close to me as she can get; I can never resist her mopey look, and I rub her "tum tum" til she feels better LOL. Though fortunately since the move and since she's been getting a lot more exercise, she hasn't had an upset tummy for a while, knock on wood!
