The Trudog Spray Me dental spray? It's all natural, and is supposed to help with tartar build up.
Manny's molars are in good shape (he gets a teeny greenie every night), but his incisors and canines are gross again. He just had a dental in December, and I REALLY hate putting him under anesthesia, so I thought I'd give this product a try. He absolutely doesn't tolerate my brushing his teeth, and the enzymatic toothpaste hasn't seemed to be of much help in reducing plaque and tartar buildup anyway, so...... Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

The dental care article in the Chihuahua club magazine recommended the PetzLife brand spray, but I have not used it myself. You might also try bully sticks for chews. I have seen dogs use their incisors on them. They have a unique texture.

I use the Petzlife and like it pretty good. I like that you can put it on and it will work without brushing, but I finger brush to get a better job with latex finger brush gloves. Has anyone noticed if Petzlife has changed the formula of their oral care gel? I misplaced my original bottle and my house must have ate it. Can't find it. Had to buy a new bottle and couldn't find original, so had to get Peppermint. Midgie doesn't seem to like it as good as original. Having the same problem with the calming gel. Think they changed that formula too. Midgie doesn't seem to want to lick it off my fingers like she did with the original.

Thank you both! I haven't heard of that brand, but I am definitely going to check into it. My bottle of Trudog came today, so I will go ahead and use it and see how it goes...it also doesn't require brushing, which is what I need for him.
Manny isn't a big chewer. I've tried just about everything I can think of to encourage him to chew from compressed rawhide, to cow hooves, beef knuckle, bully sticks, buffalo bully sticks... he chews them for like 5 minutes, then he's forever done with it. That's why I ended up getting the teeny greenies, which do seem to help with keeping his molars clean at least.
Now, if I could just find a spray that would instantly trim his nails, I'd be set! LOL!

Thank you little Beverly. :) I'm not a big fan of greenies either, but I was trying to find something that could help keep his teeth clean since he's not a big chewer.
I ended up comparing the Trudog spray to the Petzlife (I hadn't heard of petzlife until you guys suggested it) spray and they're actually identical in ingredients, so I'm confident I can now keep his teeth in good shape and I've gone ahead and cut out the greenies.

I'm also switching his diet to raw...he's always been on Taste of the Wild, but the more research I've done and having read the threads here about it, I believe it's definitely healthier. Lola will be started on it as soon as she's old enough for me to bring home. :)
