So as many of you know I broke my ankle at work last March and much to my dismay it is now 18 months later and I have still not been able to return to work. Due to the fact that the ankle/fibula did not heal properly I ended up having a plate, 8 screws and a bone grapht done last August. After lots of physical therapy, I was still not healing right, in constant (at times burning pain) along with a wide range of other symptoms taking over the left side of my body and most of my back. After several visits to a pain management specialist, I was diagnosed with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (RSD/CRPS) with Neuropathic Pain stemming from the sight of the original injury all the way up my left side. (There is no cure, limited treatments and chronic pain along with various other symptoms). Basically, a severe case of nerve damage sending pain signals along with other nasty symptoms through my body to my brain. Who would think this could happen from a simple ankle injury? Anyway, recently I under went a surgery for a 7 day trial for a spinal cord stimulator. It was deemed 60% successful so in apx. 3 months I will be having a permanent implant done in my back. It will help with the pain, but not cure anything or relieve all of my symptoms. Only time will tell if I can go back to work sometime next year!

So that is part of my story. As for Jasper, Moose, Haley (our kitty) and our newest pup Ginger Snaps they are all doing great. I do regret to inform you that our friends at Bellas Little Angels (also KC's breeder aka Pigeonsheep's pup) lost one of their chihuahuas Patrick past away last Monday at only 2.5 yrs old after a short , but serious illness. Patrick was Moose's cousin and best buddy as well as being a very special pup to my husband and I. It was with deep sadness that we spent Patrick's final day with him and his family..along with staying with them right till the very end. It was extremely heart breaking. If you are interested there is a tribute page to Patrick that you can view: R.I.P. Patrick 2/12/09 - 9/17/12 . He will be deeply missed by our family as well as his own.

To finish off my update, one of our friends who was also the manager where we live died suddenly a few days ago from a heart attack. It was very sudden and so very tragic for her husband and family. My husband and I, as well as many of our neighbors, were just shocked and saddened beyond belief. She was a good friend and sweet lady. To say the least she will be greatly missed.

So friends that is my update. I am sorry I have not kept up with all the posts and new members here on the forum. Thus I want to say welcome to all of the new members, sorry if I missed any important posts, and that I have check out several picture posts and have to say WOW all the pups here are so damn cute. Speaking of cute a post would not be a post from me if I did not include updated photos of my kids. As I said they are all doing great. Ginger and her big brothers along with our kitty have bonded together perfectly. The boys love her and kitty thinks she is just so much fun to clean and play with. BTW she is 100% daddy's little girl, but there is no surprise there!

I'm sorry for the losses you've experienced. And about your health issues.

But Ginger Snaps, Mr. Moose, and Jasper look so good! I love the pictures of Ginger cuddling with her brothers! So sweet.

Oh Laura, I'm sorry sweetie, for all of the struggles and for the losses in your
life. I'm grateful that you have Ralph and your pups by your side, helping you
stay strong. Your pictures are adorable. Little Ginger is growing up so quickly,
what a sweetie she is. Big hugs to you guys and I hope that the implant helps
you. Are you talking about Neuromodulation? If so, I was supposed to get it
done, was on a waiting list for the surgery for a year, and then decided against it.
I hope it brings you some relief, I know you've been hurting a long time.
