There are ar few people here in the park that have chihuahuas.

This one older couple have a older chihuahua.. She is so fat that she looks like a log with legs... She doesn't walk she waddles.... That poor dog moves so slow and she is out of breath by the time she goes 15 feet. I feel so bad for her.. The owners think that it is funny to call her fatso and they think she is healthy... she looks like she just gave birth.. her tits are so big a ssaggy that they almost drag the ground when she walks...

There is another couple (just moved in tot eh park) that have 2 chihuahuas. I hear these dogs all night long whining and barking... it is annoying. I don't know what the people do or when theya re home but it goes on for hours. I have not one time seen those dogs outside... except for 1 time when they first moved in they were carrying them from there site to the managers site... They are not cute little chihuahuas.. they are big almost like a mini pincer<SP>

Then there is the managers dogs(Gadets mom and dad) they leave them out in the yard (while they are working in the park) and the female has learned to jump and jump until she gets her feet on to the top of the fence ad then pulls herself up and over the fence.. the fence si just about 3 feet tall.. They bark and bark when they are outside.. no matter if the managers are there or not... I get tired of these barking dogs.. when I say something to the managers about there dogs barking for hours.. they always come back to me and say that my dog barks too.. yes he does Gadget is never let bark for no reason... even if people are walking by we don't let him bark at them... I got told that I was not a nice person for leaving Gadget home one day because he was barking the whole time we were gone... I think we were gone for 2 hours if that long. I have never left him home alone since... Either I take him with me or Ihave Linda(next door neighbor) watch him... I feel bad because I told her to let me know how much it was worth to her to watch him and she won't let me pay her... I think I need to pay her.. after all she is watching him for me and that is a big responsibility. So I decided since she wasn't going to let me pay her I would do something really nice for her...

and the other comlain I have is the managers let the dogs run every morning(that is no problem I can understand they have to have exercise) the managers always want me to let Gadget run... well he is not ever going to be let run off his leash because I woudl totally freak if something was to happen to him... and they never pick up after their dogs.. and the people with the fat chiahuahua lets it roam all over and it comes into Lindas and our yards and goes poo and they never pick up after her... I know it is not Gadget because hers is alot bigger than his and Gadget is always picked up after and he mostly goes in his fenced in yard...

I am sorry this is so long.. just had to get it off my chest... I laid there last night and listened to all these poor dogs just cry and bark for hours..

Well, I guess I will never let Gadget saty by himself again because I surely don't want him to have to feel like he is left alone... he must be really sad when we leave him by hinself...

it totally sucks and I have been thru similar things! Since you know that speaking up does nothing, I suppose there really arent other alternatives. You can move of course but that may not be a reasonable thing to do not to mention you may have MORE wackso where u go!!
This is one reason my hubby and I when we buy a house someday dont want neighbors!!! If we could pick and choose then fine but ya cant. I have never had nice neighbors where I live.........NEVER 24 years with crap neighbors, I cant take it anymore!

So vent all you want darlin...I feel for ya
Aw, Dori, don't let those people get you down. Believe me, I know how you feel. I have a number of dogs and cats roaming in my neighborhood all the time. I have to pick up daily after this huge Rottie down the street from me, and believe me, somedays I just feel like screaming. I'm seriously considering taking a shovel and throwing in back in their yard a few times. Only problem with that, is I do have to live here and I really don't want a huge fight with my neighbors. A couple of neighbors down the street from me aren't what I consider very "nice" people, so who knows what they might do.

Sorry you are having problems with some of your neighbors. Seems there always have to be one or two people in a neighborhood that just can't mind their own business. I really don't see where the manager has any right to complain about Gadget barking when her dogs bark, climb the fence and run loose. Jeez, what does she expect? They are dogs-dogs sometimes bark and sounds to me like hers bark a whole heck of a lot more than Gadget does.

I understand your frustration with the barking dogs. I live in a small sub-division in the very back and behind us, there is an older area with a few homes which, at risk of not being politically correct, houses a bunch of trailer park trash.

Someone back there has a few dogs; I can't tell how many. From the sound of their barks, they're smaller dogs and they bark constantly. Oddly enough, it's only at night though. Once the sun comes up, they're quiet. It infuriates me for two reasons - the barking, for one, and the fact if they ARE small dogs, they shouldn't be left outside in the Texas heat and the cold of night. (No dog should be left in the Texas heat.)

It makes me crazy. And when I see or hear things like that, I just want to find the person responsible, smack them upside the head and ask them what the heck is wrong with them.

I dont know about there here there are laws for noise. If a dog barks 15 minutes straight they get a warning and a fine. I had the problem with neighbors 2 doors down. Noise control came and sat then wrote a summons.. There are also leash laws when i see a dog running loose i take it in my yard and call animal control or take to the shelter beats finding road pizza. IF it is a neighbor that I have returned the dog to more than once that dog goes to the shelter also. when my rotti got out years a go they had her picked up. I was grateful and told them thank you. Believe it or not when I approached them they got defensive. Till I said no, no, I want to thank you. She could have been hit. findout what your county and state laws are about noise
Victoria, thank you, I have the option to move but you know what.. I will not move because we have been here for 2 years and we like it here... I have found that people here don't last long... These people will moe on sooner or later... And if we move we would be having to start all over... With the yard and making friends and everything else....

The people who have the fat dog probab;y won't make it another few months here(the managers are having other issues with them). I just feel sorry for the poor dog... she can't be healthy...

Neighbors can be a pain in the butt but also there are great neighbors and friends here...

Chimom, thank you, I know hwat you mean about wanting to throw the crap back in their yard.. I think if you did it once they might get mad... but then again you have a 50 50 chance they might get the hint....

I hate it when people let their dogs roam... had a problem one time with a big dog roaming into my yard and using it for a toilet.. I did call animal control oin them and they got a big big fine after the third time the animal control had to go over there 3 times..

Yeah the PArk owners mom think we at this park are trailer trash.. since the owners bought a second park tthey moved down there and now we are the trailer park trash.. or the low lifes... I don't think she is correct on this one... but that is her opionion....

the dog that climbs the fence is the managers dog... I feeel for her because she only does it when she sees her mom and dad walk away from their yard... she just wants to be with her owners...

janiebabes, I know what you mean about the noise law.. but we are in the country and the animal control only does things in the city.... they won't even do anything if an animal is being abused here.. we have to get the animal and take it to them...

quiet hour in the park is 10 pm.. that means peoplea re suppose to be quiet after this time... I always thought it was animals tooo... but I guess animals don't count...

I actually saw somebody here int he park get kicked out because their weiner dogs barked when ever somebody drove or walked by.. the kids couldn't even go out and play because the dogs would sit there and bark.. the owners never did anything about it... they thought it was cute when they barked....

I am wondering how many times people are going to have to complain about these dogs barking...

I can handle the dogs barking if someone is going to try to shut them up.. but they seem to just let them bark...

Everytime Gadget barks we always tell him no bark if he is just barking for no reason.. even if somebody knocks on the door I always
tell him no bark... he usually stops unless it is somebody he doesn't like..

I will just wait it out for a while.. the people with the 2 dogs that bark at night are new here so they might just be barking because it is a new place with new sounds.. but if it happens for a longer period of time I will have to do something... I just worry about them because you never see the dogs...
I know these are small dogs and they can handle apartment living without going out side but their trailer is not that big...

I know how big our traiker is and I would never make Gadget sit in here day after day... he needs to be outside to exercise and get fresh air..

i'm sorry you have to go through all that...either someone i know or myself has had to deal with things like that before.

my mom's friend used to have a little black dog, kinda looked like a mini black lab. she NEVER ate dog food, only ate left overs and table scraps and that dog got FAT! i felt so bad for her, but i was only a little kid at the time so there wasn't much i could do.

and i HATE it when people leave their dogs outside for hours on end. my friend's neighbor leaves his male Boxer outside ALL THE TIME! she told me that she went over there and started petting it, and the dog was just so nice. now she brings the dog into her apartment and feeds it and the dog even spends the night once in a while. i'm glad she's taking part time care of it.
chiwi makes screachy noises throughout the day. i know she does it so she can be "rescued" by my mom. she learned that if she does it after a certain amount of time my mom will go up and get her. so it makes the situation worse. i know chiwi hates being home by herself and i wish i didn't have to work. or where i worked was quiet and a stress free environment for her so i could bring her with me. so far no neighbors have complained yet. if they did i wouldn't know what to do. i hope that getting her a friend will calm her down and she wouldn't sit there in the corner at the top of the stairs and screach. then again i hope she doesn't teach her sibling (whenever i do get one) that little trick... eeekkk...
I had read somewhere to stop a dog from barking train it to bark on command then do a reverse. every time you tell him/her to bark give it a treat. then reverse every time you say no bark or shhhhhhhh give a treat.
how afwul !! all that noise and seeing those chi's suffer :? you must be really biting your tongue sometimes.

we don't live in an attached house and our neighbours are very old at one side and friendly on the other ....

kisses nat
