Hello all, I am Val

:wave: hi all I am Val (Clare's mom, ozzy and lily's grandma) I love to see ozzy and lily come to my house, they are beautiful chi's but we have one problem, Lily is very nervous and even if the doors are wide open as soon as she comes in she always leaves a parcel on my carpet, the problem is I am having a complete new carpet throughout the home in 2 weeks time and I do not want to stop them coming to my home but dont feel like I can continue allowing Lily to have accidents on the new carpet. I would be upset if they could not visit me (we also put pee pads down but this does not help) has anyone got any advice, if so it would be very much appreciated Thanks, Val :)

Hi mom - god its like a family thing now with you posting aswell - lol lets see if anyone can help us

lily is totally house trained at our house and never has acidents - she goes outside or uses pee pads when we are out - whenever we visit my moms she always does a poo or a wee up a corner even though we leave a pad down and the patio door open.

what can we do :?:

It sounds like she might be marking. My female American Eskimo does that if we go somewhere other than home especially if there are other dogs there. She marks more than the males I've seen! I don't know how to stop it. She is completely housebroken in our house. She will mark the front yard at home though. Just squats and pees in several different places within a few minutes.

Could Lily be submissive peeing?

Yes ittybitty that could very well be........Clare does she go to other peoples house or just g'mum's.....if its all other houses then I would say that could very well be.
Does she act ok after that or seems a bit nervous?

Oh Lilly g'mum wants to see you we must work this out :?

we dont really go to other houses just my moms and adams moms but she always uses the pad or outside as adams moms house is the same as ours downstairs where my moms is alt bigger with more rooms etc

hmmmmmmmmmm maybe there is somethingthere that makes her upset? Does Val have a dog too?

:wave: Hello Its Val again I just wanted to thank the people who took the time to answer my question and who are trying to help us solve our problem. You may be right we do have an elderly King Charles spaniel but Lily likes her and Ozzy never soils in the house so we do not understand why Lily does. Do you think we should correct her in any manner? or perhaps be a little firmer with her, at present we ignore the soiling. but the day is getting closer to the new carpet :( I really love the puppies but cannot tolerate the soiling on the new carpet. Please put your thinking caps on and keep trying to help. Bye for now Val. :)

Maybe its a submissive pee to the King (LOL that sounds funny) and if that is truly the case then there may be nothing to do but ban Lily.....I wish more people would read this and give ideas :?:

Oh my poor princess lily boo - she has never bneen left on her own without ozzy but it looks like I will only be able to take him then :cry:

Can you start your visit exclusivly in the garden and stay there until Lilly has done her business? Don't go in the house until after she's done. If she still does it after that, I guess it's submissive.
Can you get an x-pen or something similar to set up and line the entire floor in the pen with pads? Maybe after she does well in the pen, start letting her out for short periods of time. Have the pen in the room where most of your visiting is or have your visit in the room where the pen is.
I don't know what else to suggest.

Ms_P your idea sounds good. Also, I do believe you should correct her. Because, right now she thinks it's okay to pee/poo in that spot and she doesn't know any better. You have to catch her in the act and firmly tell her no or something. Otherwise, she'll think it's a wee wee pad just for her! I also have a bissell steam cleaner that works great for accidents.
