Help guys!!

My mother just informed me that our three adult cats did NOT get injections when young. They are farm cats and have not had any illnesses in their lives so far (they're between 5 and 7 years).

Now I'm worried incase they can spread diseases to my Chi.
I have not read anything about this in any of my four dog books, or read anything on this forum relating to this, but I'm still worried. Please let me know.

Hmmm I have had dogs and cats together on and off all my life and i have never heard this... Thank god your cats aren't sick.. is your mom goign to get their shots?

I don't believe they can spread disease to eachother; however, they can pass certain types of parasites and worms.

i think parasites and worms are the only ones to worry about. at the hospital i worked at the vet told me i could keep chiwi in the catery since chiwi wasn't fully vaccinated....

Not that im aware of :? I have 2 cats and cats and dogs dont generally get the same type diseases. outher than rabies ( to my knowledge) if you farm cats eat and kill alot of rodents i would take them infor rabie vacination or go to a feed store and get vacinations. Its easy to give pets vacinations almost all feed stores carry shot all you need to know is the animals weight and they will sell you what you need the only real diffrence is there are no records for the shots. I have given shots and it isn't hard its just scary the first time. But you can always google for info on diseases or call your vet.

The only things cats can pass to dogs are parasites, worms, and ringworms(this is a fungus on the skin that looks like a bald spot in a circle) It can be treated with any athletes foot cream or for jock itch. :?

and malaseb shampoo i used that on myself with the anti fungal cream when i got ringworm. the dr.'s at the vet hosp. told me malaseb shampoo once a week for a month (for pets lol not for me)

I asked family and friends and they were all pretty sure it'd just be fleas or parasites. So thank goodness!!
