I have an 18 week old female chi. In the beginning she loved her kennel where she sleeped at night and would sleep the whole night. Now she wakes up every hour and wants to come up to bed with me. What should I do to keep her in here kennel at night?

dont let her sleep in the bed first of all, one time letting her, creates a habit. Have you let her sleep with you? This is what could have started it.
You may just have to ignore the whines a couple of nights, as long as you arent responding to them with "babyyy mommyy is heree" or the likes, you should be good to go. As doing this doesnt soothe them or make them feel better it only heightens their anxiousness.

Also, good job on having your baby sleep in a crate! Mine do as well, as much as id love for them to sleep with me, i know its not what is best for them, as a doggy!

i just let my guys sleep in the bed with me :) hehe :D
the best thing to do is just leave her in her crate and dont talk to her-after a couple nights she should be fine!

Do you cover the crate? Try putting one of her stuffies in there with her for comfort. Ignore the squeals and whining. Make sure you don't offer water around 10 pm and take her out before you place her in the crate. Is she near a draft? She might be getting a chill at night and want more covers. Chi's love to burrow under lots of covers when sleeping at night.

(My 3 dogs sleep in the bed with me!) :)

Mine sleeps with me too, most of the time, but I waited until he was older (and reliably housetrained) before I let him. I got him used to the crate first, so that way it's always a nice backup. I agree with everyone else, you just have to ignore it and don't give in (even once, it has to be consistent), and eventually she'll realize that her whining isn't going to get her anywhere and she'll stop. If you do let her out, make sure it's only when she's been quite for a couple minutes, not while she's whining. :)

them sleeping with you isnt bad as long as they are invited into the bed, you tell them where to sleep etc. Otherwise its a dominance thing.
Dogs enjoy sleeping with their pack though, as long as its done properly. I prefer the crate bc i dont have to worry about them thinking they own me or my bed!
