Hi Everyone,

I have two rescued two year old boy chihuahuas at the moment, and I've been looking at getting a little girl that I can raise.

These puppies have been advertised and I really like the look of the blue/cream girl. The ad says they are fully vaccinated, vet checked, KC registered, 5 generation pedigree with 10 champions.

However, they dont seem to look like most of the chihuahua puppy pictures i've seen? a little stocky, longer, thicker muzzles??

What questions do i need to ask? and what do you think of this little girl?

They don't strike me as show quality tbh if thats what is being suggested.
They're probably stocky due to their young age, other than that I don't have the experiance to really comment!

I find them really cute. But just can't seem to find a blue pup . I think the one that is advertised as "blue" is rather a sable chi.

Would defo ask to see both parents if possible as it will give you an idea about how the pup is going to look like as an adult. Would also ask about whether both parents have been checked for LP.

The black and tan one is so cute, but I'm probably biased having a black and tan myself! I agree with Sabine though... She's definitely not blue. More of a fawn sable and I'd imagine she'll lose a lot of the dark hair as we grows. Chis tend to be stocky when they're puppies, but they're not particularly typey. I don't think that's important if you're looking for a pet though.

The price isn't bad for a KC registered pup but you'd expect them to come from a good breeder so I'd want to find out things like what food she's on, is she toilet trained at all, what have they done to socialise her, is she crate trained. That advert has been up for a while so I'd also want to know how old she is now and if the pictures are recent. If you want to put a deposit down before going I'd also ask to see pictures of the parents and ask a little more about temperament. You'll want to know how she'll fit in with your other dogs so perhaps ask how she interacted in the litter... Was she the most dominant? Submissive? Middle of the road? Is she curious or shy?

Thanks very much for your help guys! I really do appreciate it!
they have now sent me a pic from this morning and she doesnt look very blue at all! but is less stocky, and still very cute! those pictures were taken a week ago apparently.
I've written down a list of questions I need to ask, they dont live too far from me so I'll be going around tonight to have a look and ask my questions.
I dont suppose you have any name ideas?

Hi, my daughters dog was the spitting image of the one you are looking at and he is now a golden blonde colour, very pretty colour but def not blue, good luck.

I would always be wary of a breeder trying to get more money for an 'unusual' colour. That puppy is not even blue! Ask why they bred the litter, I worry that money may have been the motivation, which is never good.
