Helping chihuahua to settle into its cage.

Id thought i add some of my amber wisdom, for anyone getting a chihuahua soon or in the future...

If your chihuahua pup wont stop crying at night times in its new bedded cage, try putting a hot water bottle rap up in a soft blanket before you go to bed,it makes the pup think its sleepin beside its mother so will stop crying.

Then the water bottle cools down&she will be sleeping by then and soon she will be use to being in the cage and wont need it.

May sound silly but has been known to work a treat! :)

Hot water bottles /heat pads dont always work with pups, yes they are warm but not real company like their mummy.I had to sleep with my fingers through the bars of the cage for several weeksas Fynn kept crying,if i took them out.Rosie wouldnt sleep with soft teddy with hot water bottle and clock inside, would wake me up every hour,we finally left her on the sofa under covers and shes been there ever since :D
that reminds me, i read some where that puppies often find the ticking of a clock soothing and im sure even if the heatpad/hottle water bottle doesnt comfort the puppy im sure it wont be a waste of money as theyl probably appreciate on a cold day

yep i heard the ticking of the clock is a good one too, and if the heating pad doesnt work for ya chi (even in the cold) then i am sure it will keep ya toes warm in the night

Another good idea is giving your breeder a small blanket a couple of weeks/days before you pick him up, this way the smells will go on it, and this will also comfort your pup on his first couple of nights at home
yeah the smell thing works both ways, sometimesu can ask a breeder to give u a small blanket from her house. Im gona take one with me with my dogs sent so when the meet her she smells like their own
