Whew! It was a long night and we didn't get into bed until around 2am but Max arrived without a hitch. I was worried that he may be scared of us but he met us at the door of his crate with his little tail wagging. :) I went off and forgot my camera ( :x ) but took several pics this morning. I will have to post them later because i have a physical therapy appt this morning (tendonitis). In the meantime., Here's a pic of Max standing on Oklahoma soil! :D

Isn't he pretty? He's too thin but give me a couple weeks! :D

very cute, i must have missed the story, you rescued him? :D
No, i bought him from a breeder in New York. I am also buying Jolie's sister and i pick her up saturday. Although i am buying her, she is a rescue because i couldn't stand the thought of her living her life as a "breeder" with noone to love her.

I found the story:

Ok,,These are my babies and how i got them:
From Feb 1999 to November 1999 i didn't have a chihuahua. That was the first time since i was 9 years old that i didn't own one. Tiffany had died and i just didn't feel i wanted another right away.

In November, 1999, I bought Allie. But i felt Allie needed a "buddy" because she was alone every day while i worked.
So in March 2000, i bought Kimmie. I skipped their first heat, then bred both of them to my mom's male. Kimmie and Allie had their puppies within 2 days of each other. Allie got sick when her pups were only 7 days old and i had to bottle feed them until they were old enough to wean. I got attached, what can i say?

I sold Kimmie's pups but couldn't part with Allie's. I initially gave 2 of them to my daughter Ami, but ended up getting them back when Ami built a new house. So i have Kaydee, Andy, Emmie and Hollie. That makes 6.

Then in July i followed a link from Jill's blog to here and from here clicked on Puppyfind.com where i spent hours happily looking at all those puppies. BEAUTIFUL PRECIOUS PUPPIES!
Then i saw Jolie's sister . (not the one i am now buying) I thought i had to have that puppy. I went to Texas, money in hand, and ended up with Jolie instead. Jolie was, in person, what i saw in the other puppy's picture.
In the meantime, Kimmie and Andy had one puppy together,,,Boomer. I had no intention of keeping Boomer. Kimmie and Andy have had several litters together and i've not kept any of their pups. Boomer is staying. He has a way of growing on you.

So now i have 8.

THEN,,
there has been the issue of Jolie's sister not being sold. I have continued to watch the breeder's pups on puppyfind.com. Within 10 days after i bought Jolie, 3 of her litter mates sold. Only one remained. She was the biggest in the litter but just as cute as the others. I had spoke to the breeder about her just out of curiosity and was told if she didn't sell, then she would keep the pup and make a "breeder" out of her. I couldn't stand that thought. No one to love her....i just couldn't stand it. So i kept watching her ad and hoping someone would buy her and love her like i love mine. Her time ran out on Thursday. I logged on and sis was "gone" out of my favorites. My heart leaped in my chest. When a puppy goes missing out of my favorites, that usually means someone has bought it. And the puppy goes to the end of the breeders list of "pups for sale'. But Jolie's sister wasn't there. She had been completely removed. I emailed the breeder and was told the pup didn't sell, so she was just going to keep her for a breeder. I pick her up next Saturday...

I had been kicking around the possibility of breeding chihuahuas again for awhile. I used to raise to sell years ago but not so much in the past few years. In fact, i had just recently told my vet to stop sending people my way because i'm not raising any more. But i changed my mind. Why? Because i love this breed with a passion that spans nearly my whole life. I can have them in my life and help others to have them too. I want the world to see what i see in these little precious babies. It's not possible to make the whole world see but i can do my part to make sure that people who do want them get a special little doll baby who is healthy and well cared for.

So,,i began to look some more. I found Max's little brother who was sold before i could make up my mind. But then i took a closer look at Max. Max will fly from New York to Oklahoma to live with me forever in a few days. He will be my first daddy dog. Max has good breeding. Really good breeding. But his sweet little face clinched it for me.

So there will be 10.

I still don't have the female i want to breed Max to. I'm in no hurry.

I don't post pics of the others because i did that when i first came here and got blasted because Kaydee, Emmie, Hollie and Allie are all obese. I got lectures that i didn't ask for. Kaydee is REALLY obese. I love her anyway and no, Kaydee won't be going on a diet. She's happy and i'm happy because she's happy. But i will show you the picture i took of Allie, Emmie, Hollie, Andy, Kaydee and Ami's chi, Chew. I had put something really good on a paper plate so i could take this pic of them all together.

here's Max:

Jolie's sister:

Jolie and Boomer:

And last but not least, Kimmie:

He's a lot cuter in Oklahoma than the photo the NY breeder gave you!! Congrats!!

I'm gonna have to get a cheat sheet for the next time we visit... it's going to have little pictures of each of the dogs and their names so I can keep up with who's who.

He looks very happy... I'm sure he's going to have a blast playing with everyone!
