 Hello i was just wondering does anyone here have chihuahua's that weigh over 7-8 pounds? My Porsha is gonna be big by chi standards (doing research) Her father falls into the toy catagory at about 4-5 pounds he is very tiny but her mother is about 9-10 pounds she has 5 pups per litter. I wonder if the mom is a mix or just a larger breed chi. It doesn't matter i love Porsha regardless but I am still curious. At 7 1/2 wks. Porsha was 2.2 pounds.

I have what I would consider a very, very large chi. He was 12 lbs. at about 9 mos. when I last had him to the vet getting neutered. I don't think he's grown much since then. He's now 11 mos. He weighed about 4 lbs. at 10 wks. when I got him. He's not registered. Parents came from a pet shop and are supposedly registered. But, from a pet shop you never know for sure. He looks like a pure-bred, deer head type. But, like I said from a pet shop, even registered, you can never be sure unless you get one from a reputable breeder.

She was supposed to be a "teacup" though (that's what the paper the lady I got her from gave me anyway...I knew better lol) so she's smaller.
:? I don't mean to sound harsh but I rather you don't associate the term teacup with chihuahuas at all..especially when talking about size..and especially if you now know better. :?

Callie is 5 1/2 lbs. She's the black and tan in the background of my siggy.

Annabelle, the white one, is 7 lbs.

Cody, the one with his head on the ground, is between 11 and 12 lbs. I haven't had him weighed lately but he is a big, healthy boy. We really enjoy him because we don't have to be super careful with him. :D

Great thread.
My little boy was the smallest in his litter weighing in at 2.4oz at birth, and his two brothers were 4oz each so almost double his size.

He is 15 months old now and weighs just under 4lbs, so he is certainly an ickle one!.

I have just seen the weight chart posted in another thread, it is sooo interesting. But now sure how accurate it is because it says that one born the weight Mr Big was would be 2lb fully grown, which seem awfully small!!! :) I think I would be really scared that I would damage him if he was only that weight

I personally do not think it matters how much they weigh, you are never going to get one that is huge :D

Just out of interest though, I wonder who has the smallest fully grown chi on the site and how much they weigh :)

Hi Nathalie,
I completely agree! it is sooo nice for them all to be different. I love your piccies, you have lovely babies :)

So did you get Paris and Cosmo at the same time from the same litter? and how did you find having double the trouble at the same time :D

Sonny is 4 1/2 months old (18 weeks) this friday...last week at his last puppy appt he weighed 2 lbs on the nose!
His mom and dad were both under 4 lbs, and he was the smallest of a litter of 5 puppies! some of his brothers were twice his size when we first got him at 8 weeks (and 1lb)..
We really wanted a small chi, so i guess we got one...

I have to say, looking at how many people here have 2 or 3 chis really makes me want to have another one!!

The only hard thing about Sonny being sooo tiny is when we brought him to the vet for his shots, he screamed bloody murder! I was in tears
