Hello
I recently adopted a 10 year old mixed chi. I noticed the hair between his paw’s pad is getting long. I’d line to trim them myself but what should i use. He was abused in a former home. I’ve been building trust touching his feet a lot but he yelps when he perceives he gets afraid. So i need as fool proof as possible. Trimmer with safety might be the answer. What do you think? What tool, brand?

Baxter’s sensitive paws thank you for recommendations.

I would definitely continue to work on him letting you touch his feet using positive reinforcements, any tool could be dangerous if he is moving all about.
If there is no time to wait for him being more comfortable and u wont take to vet or groomer then id say get some ball tip scissors, it will be less stressful then shaving.

The tip isn’t pointy and sharp
The blades are so you can still cut the dog , if not careful. Just dont get the scissors so close to the skin at first , use positive reinforcements and go slow
