How much do you feed and how often?

I was wondering, how much should I feed my Chi and how many times a day should I feed her? I usually give her two handfuls (one in the morning, one at night) and she seems satisfied, but always acts like she'd eat more if I'd give it to her. She's almost three months old now, so what is a good amount to give her? Thanks in advance!

she needs 3 meals a day until she is 6 months and then you can drop to twice a day
yes i agree with ozzy and lilys momma. At such a young age they can't eat very much at one time so they need to have food available throughout the day. I feed mine three times a day... sometimes they arent hungry at the second feeding but i leave the food so they can eat it when they are hungry. I use one of those measuring tablespoons and just scoop out 3 or 4 scoops worth and that is usually more than enough for the two of my girls. I stopped feeding them wet food and tried to introduce it back to them but neither of them took a liking to it. Just make sure she can eat whenever she is hungry.
About how much should each serving be, though? Like 1 cup or 1/2 cup or less?
What food are you giving her ? ( it should have a weight guide on the bag , eg size of puppy how much to feed :) )

He'll probably only be eating about a 1/4 cup or less of food "per meal" but it all depends on the type of food, etc. You can ask your vet and they'll be able to give you a good idea of how much to feed.

Cooper only gets 1/8 cup of dry and 1 tbsp. of wet food a day, he weighs 10 lbs and eats a reduced calorie food. Oddly enough, he never eats all of it and I feel guilty that the amount is so small and he MUST be starving to death. (You can see from his pictures, he hasn't starved a day in his life LOL) Of course, he DOES have a cup of decaf coffee with cream, a Greenie and two treats a day as well, so I'm counter-acting the reduced calorie thing.

The suggestions on the bag are always a little more than they should be so if he doesn't eat all the "recommended" amount during the day, don't worry.

This has nothing to do with the thread but it was too funny to not tell you. I was reading your reply and Josie was in my lap and she looked up and saw your sig with the pics of Cooper on it and just stared at them. Then she progressed to growling at them. I wasn't sure what it was, so I scrolled away so that the picture was gone and she stopped. When I scrolled back to it, she started again. Haha...wonder what that means!
LOL that's funny!!! Show her the videos of Cooper that I posted in the photos section and see what she does!
I would, but I'm on dial-up here, unfortunately. I'll save that for another day! :D
Usually puppies from newborn up to 12 weeks eat 4 meals a day...From 12-24weeks they need 3meals...and 2meals a day from 6months to a year
I free feed Lina at the moment. About..oh I'd say...every 2-3 days I have to put more in her bowl. I give her half a cup (sometimes a whole cup) and she just seems to eat when she's hungry. I know she's eating because I see (and sometimes hear lol) her munching away in the kitchen.
