Today my husband had to clean his gun for work. While he cleans it it makes noise. Noises Cricket didn't too much like. Every time it made a noise she would jump. Now about 15 or 20 min after he cleaned the gun, he left. When he went to pet her she started screaming like she was hurt. She isn't hurt. I checked everywhere on her I could. Her legs, ribs, stomach, everywhere. Why did she do that? She's never cried like before.

Strange noises scare my dogs, too. Plus your husband probably smelled of gun oil, which she may associate with the bad noises. At least that is my theory.
