I do not know if this question has been asked already but I was wondering if you have more than one chihuahua and if you do, how many? and how do you take care of all of them? and how do you divide your attention and tend to everyone's own specific behavior and needs at the same time??? :dontknow: I had two and it seemed a little tough.

I have 3 ... Somedays I find it hard to give equal attention especially when both my girls want it at the same time.. because then they fight so I try to do it on an individual basis. Generally they let me know when they want attention. otherwise I bug them to go for a walk or play with a toy or get some lovings but half the time they are not interested lol

I have two and a half! Gracie and Diesel are both Chis, and Pedro is half Chi, half Cairn terrier.

I find with Chis, the more, the merrier. They really develop close bonds with each other. Pedro is a bit more stand-offish than the other two, but he was an abused rescue, and he's part terrier.

I may have both Chis on top of me at any given time. They make sure my attention is well distributed. Right now, Gracie is laying beside me as close as she can get, and Diesel is perched on my shoulder like a little bird. Pedro is more independent - he's busy dragging out every single toy they own and trying to entice the Chis into playing with him.

My husband is great with them, too. They love him almost as much as they love me, so we share them at night while watching t.v.

Housetraining is a breeze with more than one, as long as you're not trying to train two at once. My older ones trained the younger ones more so than I did.

Sure, sometimes it gets crazy around here, and sometimes I'd like to type without having to make a correction in every sentence because a Chihuahua ran across my laptop, but they're kinda like potato chips...You can't have just one!

I have 3 half chis and will be getting a full chi on vday. I work away from the home during the day and get a to take one of them a day with me. They get individual time with me and spend time with my friends bigger dogs. When I am home there are times when all of them are on my lap and times with they are all alseep in their beds. I also live at home so there are 8 other people to pay around and snuggle with them. Most of the time they entertain each other. They all are on the same schedule and go out side to potty at the same time. It helped when I got Claude because he was used to following him mama outside to go potty.

I agree they are like potato chips. ;)

I have 6 right now ( 2 fosters). Two are more Mom-focused, three are more Chi-focused, and one kind of gets lost, and I feel so bad about that. I am the only human and I work long hours away from home. Sigh. But they do have each other, and I do what I can.

Well it is really simple for me I do not work so I am here most of the time. I cuddle pet both at the same time if they want loves. Holly is a baby still so she sleeps a bit more than my older chi . They get lots of love from my kids too so really it is not that hard.

I couldn't help chuckling a little at the question of having more than one chi..lol
I think my siggy says it all. :D My gang lives and functions as a pack.. they play together, eat together, groom each other, and have formed very close bonds within the pack.

The one exception is Cocoa, she is our loner of the gang. She prefers to be with her people, or alone, not with the other chis. This seems to be more pronounced as she ages. She is the senior doggie in the house since we lost Fancy at age 15 in 2011, and doesn't want to be "bothered" by the antics of some of the younger family members..lol She has "the look" that pretty much tells them to go away and leave her alone. Cocoa and Fancy were best buddies and I know Cocoa grieved when Fancy passed away. They were inseparable for many years.

Neko and Buster are half brothers (one year apart in age) and they prefer the company of each other. These two spent lots of time on my puter desk and side table with me, and don't want to share that space with the others very often.

Bandy/Spikey/Kona are like the 3 amigos..lol They are all three close in age and have grown up from puppyhood together. They love to wrestle, play tug a war, chase each other, etc. These 3 sleep snuggled together every night.

Holly and Snow are full sisters (littermates) and the babies of the family. They play-fight with each other constantly..I think they haven't decided who is the dominant female yet..;) It's Cocoa, but they don't count her..lol

Hubby and I are retired so we are home 24/7, so these guys have two of "their" people to dote on them. The ones who like to go, take turns going on the car rides. Some of them love it and always want to go, others don't love it so much.. Two sleep in our bed every night.. again, some love it, and some want to be with their chi buddies to snuggle instead.

Never a dull moment around here, and I wouldn't have it any other way. They are all loved for who they are, and no two are the same. Seven of them are more attached to me than hubby...~ and the other one is a true daddy's girl!

Mine are a lot like Chidebs pack. Gonzo is usually in the living room with my four special daughters getting a lot of one-on-one loving. In the morning, all the dogs that want to have cuddle time on my lap. Delilah and Twiggy are standoffish and rarely comes up for cuddling, prefer their own company. Smoke and Pepper ALWAYS want to be on my lap. Sometimes they will share my lap. Billy comes up several times a day asking to be picked up, but once he's up here and licked the keyboard, looking for crumbs, he doesn't know what else to do, so he goes back down. Tico comes up two or three times a day, asking to come up and get his eye drops and stays up for a while to sleep. Smoke, Isis, Chumley, Babushka, and Sherman play together constantly. Pepper and Babushka play when the others are all tired out. Reggie loves playing with Babushka, too. Right before bedtime, regular as clockwork, Marmalade will pick up a toy to play tug-a-war with Isis or Chumley, the rest of the time she stays by herself. Also at night, on rare occasions, Lexxi will play with the younger dogs. She is the top dog here. Abby is still ignoring all the dogs, sleeps by herself. Any dog that comes up and asks for attention gets talked to and petted and, if my lap is empty at the time, time in my lap. Three times a day they are all let into the big backyard for running around and burning off excess energy.

Thank you very much.. I am very blessed with such a joyful life, much more than I deserve.:) I have realized so much over these past few years..lol It took time and a lot of living before I finally recognized what is truly important.
It is not about me, never has been, ~ it is about doing all I can to share my blessings with others, and that includes all God's creatures. The greatest rewards come to me when I try to be encouraging, uplifting, and patient with with those who are struggling. To find the best in life, you have to be looking for it; reaching out for it or you can miss it entirely.
Blessings, Deb

I have 4 chihuahuas & two pugs, it's 'fun' having lots
All my lot get along great, all eat together, go on walks together no problems at all..

Kirby is my baby and 'pack leader' he is not at all aggressive but all the others respect him just by him 'looking' at them! he is always by myside/next to me.

Fizzy is just interested in security ;) he is head of security always sat on the chair looking out the window or in the garden just watching.

Zeta is a loner really, sometimes she will play but she tends to sit on our bed most of the time.

Shadow and the pugs are loopy! playing all the time..

I also often have the four other chihuahuas I used to live with (when I got married and moved out my mum kept four of 'our' chihuahuas) when they visit there is also no problems (Kirby sorts them out when they arrive) they settle straight away, seeing 10 dogs playing is wonderful :D

Wow! you guys have awesome daily routines and days filled with cuties! About the chi I "had", earlier this past year I had posted a question about my male chi and his weeewee always being wet and how he always has dry pee on his hair, well anyways, I only had him for a couple of months, he was a great, beautiful, long haired chi who was very good and calm. He kept marking and he was always smelly! like his pee. And since he always had dried pee and stank, i didnt want to give him a bath everyday because of flaky dry skin and so i didnt let him sleep on my bed with my girl chi, who hardly goes outside, which made her cleaner. Instead he slept in a kennel, but man, he would stink real bad and stink up my whole room. I felt bad. I also felt bad for him because after I bought him from his previous owner, i noticed that he had super bad teeth!! they were all brown and he had crystalized like brown plaque on his teeth! He knew no commands, not even sit. They also told me that he lived in thier garage. :( . and another thing that made me also sad was that, he didnt even know what doggy treats were!!!! he would sniff them but not take it, he doesnt even know what a rawhide or bully stick was!! I was glad that I had rescued him. Over the couple of months I trained him and introduced treats and rawhides to him. He slowly discovered the taste of treats and bullysticks. He also started to mark less. He needed very very special attention, unfortunatley I noticed that I began to give no attention to my girl chi, who was a good sport and was never jealous. I felt bad all over again! for not giving Tiny any attention. pretty soon I began school and I worked at night, from 11 pm to 7:15 am and would go to class at 8 til 10 am and come home to sleep til 3 or 4 pm. I didnt have time for butter anymore (male chi) and he was always in the backyard, my chi girl was always indoors in my bedroom because she was very well potty trained and slept in bed with me (that was our time spent/and attention.) by the time i would wake up I had to study, do hw, eat and shower. during that time Tiny would follow me around and spend time with me. When I was done I would let butter in. I would spend my last couple hrs with him before I would go back to bed and put him in his kennel for the night. At 10:30 pm, i would wake up and go back to work. Phew!!! it was obvious that I only had time for one chi, so I carefully decided to rehome him and chose wisely as to who I would adopt him out to. A month later I found him a new home to a young girl who would have lots of time and special attention to spend with him and to also further his training and basic commands. So that was my situation and my story of why and how I rehomed my second chi and it also made me wonder, how do you guys deal with all your chi's. :) because ive noticed that some of you guys have multiple chi's.

I feel so sad for him, He needed very special attention, he was 2 years and a half. I cant believe that for 1 1/2 year he lived in a garage! they told me that he came from a breeder, im guessing a byb. When i had met up with them (2 hrs later from where im from) to buy him they told me that when they got him, he was 1 yrs old already, but yet on thier ad they said that he was 10 months old!!! ergh!!! people these days. This is what happens when you adopt pets from craigslit. :(

At least you found him a good home. You are doing well to find the time for a dog at all with such a busy schedule!!
I have 2 Chis and a Chiweenie. I find it really easy as long as they see you as the boss and not a resource to be guarded and fought over then they tend to enjoy being in a pack. All mine like attention in different ways and are happy to all climb on my lap at once. Plus they get walked 1-3 hours a day so are too tired to cause mischief!!LOL:D
