Good morning, all! Trixie has been here since Tuesday and she's really settling in quite nicely. She's becoming much more tolerant of Maisy (my 10 yo Australian Shepherd). Maisy's great...she just wants to play with Trix, but she's not quite ready for that yet! LOL! I've only had to correct her twice about baring her teeth/growling/snapping at Maisy and she looks at me now, when Maisy comes close to her while she's on my lap. I say in a somewhat stern voice, "I don't wanna see the teeth!"...then she licks my hand! LOL!
I need to be a little more vigilant about getting her outside after breakfast....I'm still trying to figure out her "timing"....otherwise, she's doing great with "potty" and I praise her like there's no tomorrow, followed by a treat or two!
The first night I had her, I slept with her in a recliner :::ugh::: because I'm a softie and didn't want to crate her on night number one. Second night, when I went to bed, my husband said she was going bizzerk (?sp) crying, trying to bite to get out of the crate, so he decided to bring her to me...yes...IN BED! She was a total cuddle bug, but my husband is so allergic (God bless him), and I promised him no more dogs in the bed. So last night, I put her in her crate...Maisy is not crated but she was in the same room with her. I stood at the door for like 10 minutes to see if she would whine and cry...nothing! I went and took a shower and then checked again....quiet as a mouse!
When I went to get her this morning, she was literally "beside herself"....she was like a Mexican jumping bean...tripping all over herself to get up in my lap! LOL! Overall, she's doing so well for only being here three days.
Thanks for letting me boast and brag....trust me...this forum is probably the only place that (perhaps?) won't get sick and tired of me "gushing" over my new baby! Ha ha! I think my FB friends are going to start "unfriending" me if I don't stop posting pics! LOL!
